Prepare yourself for a dining experience that will leave you utterly speechless. Bowdie’s Chophouse in East Grand Rapids is an absolute gem for steak enthusiasts, and I can confidently say that it is one of the finest establishments I have ever had the pleasure of dining at. From the first bite to the last, every aspect of the experience at Bowdie’s was nothing short of exceptional.

The place is beautiful. Our server was fast and attentive without being overbearing. Our food was quick but paced beautifully. We shared the shrimp bisque and escargot to start, the bisque is the closest I’ve ever come to tasting perfection. The shrimp is fresh and bold but tamed by the tomato and cream and whatever delicious and nutty herb is in top.

The service here was good, but I couldn’t have been more disappointed in our steaks. The steak had no flavor for both the cowboy steak and tomahawk steak. I tried add flavor with their dipping sauce and that was a fail. Both steaks were not cooked as we hoped, but we tried to push through and eat it. Overall, I won’t be going back for steak. However, their potatoes were good.

Server was nice, unfortunately though for 230$ me and my wife got a cold ribeye, fishy tasting lake salmon. Fries were good but crazy the price they charge. Also 16$ old fashion with crushed ice, taste was good but if you are charging more then nice cocktail bars then it least add a whiskey cube. Definitely not worth the money for me much rather go to a place like the English Inn for 50$ less and have a way better atmosphere and overall experience for dinning at a price like that. Definitely disappointed with the overall experience here especially on our anniversary.

We were a party of seven, and everyone’s meal was perfect except mine. I had ordered a scotch and soda and was served a scotch and water. The server corrected this quickly. My dinner steak was ordered without spices and was delivered lightly salted. I accepted the meal due to it would take another forty five minutes for a new Steak. Everyone else’s meals were served and delivered as asked for and they were completely satisfied.

Went for the first time and our experience was exceptional. We split the 26oz ribeye and it was outstanding, cooked to perfection. Side item portions are huge you can split and still have leftovers. Best manhattan you will ever have, they make their own cherries. We have also tried the completion and Bowdies is the best steakhouse around and also better value for your money.

Amazing experience at Bowdies. Steaks were done to perfection. The brussels & belly, au gratin potatoes and the mushroom sides were simple amazing, best of any restaurant I’ve visited. Beignet’s we’re awesome for desert – hot and delicate. Most of the drinks were great too. Scallops for an appetizer were out of this world. We’ll be back!!
