I feel like I found the greatest gem in Washington. Was glad to come on a quiet fall Saturday evening when the village was closed. We truly felt lost in time. Roger was an amazing host and minstrel. The food and ale/cider was incredibly delicious. I was an English history major at UW 30 years ago so this is clearly my style, yet little did I know this incredible slice of historic English countryside has been in my backyard for all of these years. It was a magical experience and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a wonderful, unique dining experience.

I’m astounded at the praise this place is receiving. First off, the place looks like it’s falling apart and is cleaned once a month. Cob webs everywhere, dust all over the table. My napkin came with bonus long gray hairs all o’er it. Yummy. Food was overpriced. Portions small. Our bill was $240 for 7 people, 3 or which barely ate anything. Roger asked what we wanted to drink and had a very small selection to choose. We opted for water, to which he replied “If you all order water we’re not going to make any money.” Which was awkward.. But that very much matched the theme of everything. We were the only people there and he would randomly come out to sing or tell a story. If you don’t give him 100% of your attention he’ll stop talking and stare at you until you’re done with your side conversation. It felt like this was more about his enjoyment than it was the guests. Very bizarre. Like dining with a narcissistic schizophrenic, living in HIS 14th century world. I asked for a refill of the apple juice with cinnamon added to it, which I believe cost about 4.50 for a very small cup. Found out that refills were not free… What a joke. Each cup easily paid for an entire 2 liter of the stuff. Anyways, it was finally time to leave. He told us the bill and we sat around the table negotiating the bill with each other. He just stood in the distance and stared at us the entire 2-3 minutes. Just so bizarre. The chicken and the starter bread was pretty good, everything else was meh. I would recommend this to enemies only. HEED THY WARNING!

Magical experience!!! The food was fantastic and unlike any I’ve had at other restaurants, and I was amazed at how well Roger the innkeeper stayed in character the whole time. It really was like stepping back in time. Prices were also VERY reasonable for how much of a production the whole thing was. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and will definitely be back!

Amazing time and experience. Was able to find this gem close by and went with the family. Food was excellent, ambience was great and drinks were delicious. Even the kid who is picking enjoyed the fruit and cheese plate. The bread was to die for. Roger was a great minstrel and inn keep. Would definitely come back and bring friends and family.

Be prepared for a life altering experience. Check out their website before visiting to better understand how to prepare and what it’s all about. Lunch is served from noon-3pm, then dinner at 5pm, so plan accordingly. I think lunch is drop in but dinner is reservation only.

Had the opportunity to visit Bors Hede last night, and it was an absolutely great experience. From the moment you walk in the ambiance and atmosphere of the venue is 14th century England. The service was also excellent. the food they offer is traditional food from England during the 14th century. The Meade was also great. Definitely a must try.

Such a quaint little gem! The atmosphere, intimate small group setting, great music and delicious food was well worth it. Highly recommend and look forward to going in the spring time to explore the grounds.

A experience not to be missed; the food and drink options were extremely tasty, sounded authentic, and definitely different from everyday, 21st century fare; the periodic atmosphere even included tin cups; And the friendly proprietor provided entertainment during the meal in the form of song and riddle.
