Bonanza is a great experience as far as a good sitdown family restaurant. Always have good luck with the salad and food bar. Staff was great as far as service. Place was clean. I remember getting rib eye steaks from here long time ago. I have never personally had a complaint about this restaurant ever.

The prices are about what you’d expect them to be for a restaurant. The service is ok. Would have given more stars if the mashed potatoes were served hot. They were cold. The chicken I ordered tasted good. But was also on the cold side. Must have been an off night for the cooks or something. I was also not aware that I could have opted out of getting the salad bar with my meal. There should be a sign up or something stating this.

I had not been here in a while, few years at least. Sadly I would say I haven’t missed much. The food is mediocre and the prices are way too high for what you get. $20 for a 7oz steak with one side, drink and salad bar not included. Other steak/grill houses have similar pricing but you get far better meal quality. However the salad bar is always full, and the hot bar is always a hit, as well as the classic soft serve ice cream station.

Food was ok. Grilled chicken had a weird texture, almost rubbery, looks like grill hasn’t been cleaned in years, gross bathroom. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. The buffet was clean and had plenty of options.

The closing manager with long braided grey/white hair was extremely rude and unpleasant upon our departure. Our toddler had been taking a minute to get his jacket on in front of the exit door, he was tired and acting like a typical child. We must have been in the managers way and didnt realize. She nearly shoved us out the door, scowling at us as we walked out. Closed the door and locked it right behind us with a very mean look directed at us. They weren’t due to close for thirty more minutes- I checked, worrying we had stayed too long. There were a few customers still sitting and eating. We were shocked. The other staff had been kind and we even had tried to clean up our table before we left to be polite. We were being neither loud or rude during our stay, I didn’t understand her horrible behavior. We usually love to eat at this establishment. One bad attitude can ruin an entire place!

I now live in Presque Isle but when I visited here on vacation my sister and I would frequent Bonanza and we loved it every time! I’m sad to see it closed temporarily and understand why but I do hope it opens again for her next visit so we can return together! Best buffet ever!

The Buffett is pretty repetitive. The entree’s are usually pretty good.

There’s a reason why Bonanza restaurants are almost nonexistent. The food is beyond horrible. The steak was flavorless, overcooked and not tender. The baked potato would have been okay, but they served it with two large scoops of what tasted like silicone. The salad bar fodder wasn’t great either. The buffet selections looked disgusting. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

First time at Bonanza. I haven’t been able to find a Ponderosa in years and after checking their website and finding out they are owned by the same company.
