Bombay Café is an interesting Indian restaurant. Not perfect in my opinion, but not bad either. For starters, the food we had was thoroughly delicious. My only main complaints are that it took a long time for the food come out, and the portions were on the smaller side which is not the end of the world. I believe there was only one person running the entire restaurant, so I understand the issues that can come along with that predicament. The food really was terrifically flavorful, the gentleman serving and likely cooking for us was very polite/friendly, and we were happy for the overall experience.

Just ordered…. Horrible. Arrived a little bit after we received a message our order was ready. It wasn’t. It seems that it was given away. Ordered 2 orders butter chicken. Horrible meat tastes bad and in an oily flavorless broth??? This is embarrassing. The naan was missing a slice? Only 3/4 of it was in the package? Why not the whole naan. Decided to try it and first impressions are important. We will never recommend or order here again. My wife took one bite and was immediately nauseated by the taste.

I’ve eaten at many Indian restaurants. Bombay Cafe has my favorite version of chicken korma out of any place I’ve been. It’s different than most versions of korma I’ve had. It’s hard to explain why, it just has more flavor than other places. The restaurant itself has some downsides, as other reviewers have pointed out, but I love the korma so much that it doesn’t bother me. I crave it weekly.

While driving from Vegas me and my husband stopped in Cedar and decided to order Indian food.We got boiled coconut broth with some seasoning and a few chunks of lamb dumped in this broth. This was their version of lamb curry. My hubby ordered mild spice it was devoid of taste. I had the spicy version, I had to mix it with my leftover lamb curry that I got in Vegas to make it flavorful. The naan was 3/4, what happened to the quarter slice?

This was our first time ordering from this place. We ordered three entrées tuber supposed to be coconut. Curry and one was supposed to be lamb. Curry the coconut curry looks like it came out of the Campbell’s cream of chicken chicken chicken barely 4 pieces of chicken and hardly any vegetables isn’t spicy at all no flavor very small pieces of chicken and this is what they call mango chutney that is just a joke. rice is very dry. Honestly, I have everything the samosas were the only thing that we’re good.. I paid 1295 for each of these entrées.

We ordered the vindaloo and curry chicken dishes from this location and were very disappointed. They looked and tasted the same, and it didn’t taste that great. The chicken wasn’t seasoned and the sauce was basically more of a broth than a vindaloo or curry sauce. We specifically ordered vindaloo because we needed at least one dairy free entree for someone who is lactose intolerant and couldn’t tell if these had dairy in them. Won’t be returning.

I have eaten at this place twice and will not be going back. While the owner is a pleasant man, he works completely alone! He takes the orders and then goes back and prepares the food all by himself, and then serves it too. The wait was longer than at other restaurants and the amount of food was minimal! It was served on a large plate with just a thin layer of curry or masala (or whatever) and a tiny scoop of rice. Not enough for my husband at all! He had to go home and eat something else! The dish I had (Vegetable Masala for $17!!!) had no flavor! My friend ordered the same thing with medium heat and I ordered mine with mild heat. There was no difference! The place has no air conditioning and it was a bit warm in July! The owner was kind enough to bring out a little treat for our friend’s birthday. But this place is way overpriced and no flavor! Choose another restaurant!!

I see some complaints here about the wait times on the food.

Nice people, fine service, but the food needs work—especially for the price. Each of the 4 different dishes we ordered were made with canned vegetables and lacked spices/flavor to cover up the canned taste. We ordered naan but it was toasted pita bread. The rice was nice.

I got the butter chicken curry, chicken pakora, and the strawberry lassi. I eat Indian food whenever I get the chance, I’ve eaten it all over. The strawberry lassi here is the best one I’ve ever had! I would show a picture of the food but I had such a good time eating and hanging out with friends it slipped my mind. The atmosphere is so comfortable and inviting, and the workers were very nice and polite. I’ll definitely eat here again next time I’m in town 🙂
