This Brazilian place is delicious. We used to go to their old location in Jack London square often, but it’s the first time we come to this new location. And it’s still providing the same great quality of food with excellent service that have never disappointed us. Best of all it is very reasonably priced. So you got to give it a try. I’m sure you will be pleasantly surprised.

Came here for lunch with a coworker. It was still early so lots of seats available. They actually have a lot more seating in the back including an atrium. We ordered an agua fresca and split a side of patatas brave. She ordered a gumbo since it was that kind of weather. I ordered the shrimp Louie. Food was good but. It mind blowing. I will come back again and try more dishes.

Me and my wife were in town for a concert. We saw this on google maps and knew we had to come. We got the Dungeness Crab deviled eggs and they were delicious. Then we got the ahi tuna and beef empanada which were small portions but they were off the happy hour menu and just as much as we wanted. The service was the best I’ve ever had. We sat at the bar and the bartender did a great job with our drinks. He even made us drinks not on the menu based on what we liked. Excellent place will be back when we are in town next.

Bocanova is a welcome, new addition to Oakland’s downtown food scene. A new bright space with indoor and outdoor dining, with a full bar and barista service too. Partake of a meal, a drink, a coffee, an espresso or all that Bocanova offers. It is up to you how you wish to enjoy your time in this space. The menu is fresh and varied with well thought out Mexican and American specials. The bread pudding is just the thing to round out and finish your meal. Service is welcoming and friendly with all the attention that will not leave you wanting. The ambience is dictated by the level of interaction of the patrons and not by artificial electronic input coming from loud, speakers. This is great for a mealtime conversation. Enjoy.

Beautiful wide open space with vibrant colours. Absolutely delicious food and drinks, with attentive service. Loved this new version of Bocanova! The vegetarian options were so tasty and the desserts were perfect. And the design of the restaurant is amazing. We will definitely be back.
