Went on a Friday night so maybe this experience was an exception, but our waitress was very rude and unfriendly from the get go. I ordered a deluxe sandwich, which comes with soup and fries. She didn’t even bother telling me they were out of soup when I ordered it. She didn’t ask what kind I wanted either, but I assumed they only had one kind and that’s why she didn’t ask, so I didn’t think too much into it. My boyfriend and I were the only ones in the restaurant too, so it’s not like they ran out after taking my order. She only told me they were out after I inquired about it when my actual food came. I said, “but am I still paying for the deluxe?” She rudely says as she’s walking away, “I’ll change it, but we are out of soup!!” As if she was annoyed and frustrated with me for asking. On top of it, fries came out very burnt and were hardly edible and this is coming from somebody who usually asks for their fries well done, only ironically enough, this time I didn’t. I will say, the older gentleman who was there as well, perhaps the owner (?), was very nice. That the only reason why I gave it a second star…He just needs to get better staff!!

Be prepared to wait. We went at 11:00 and took 45 minutes to get Biscuits & gravy/Elmer’s Glue. Eggs and slice of ham were tasty. No refills on beverages. I had a turkey club and asked for swiss and got processed (like American cheese) soft, tasteless. The place is older and cozy so decor could use a facelift. The prices are more than reasonable. The waitress was not attentive or personable. The owner is in the back cooking and his wife delivered the food…The waitress disappeared. I hope things change for Bobby. I like to see family-owned business but sadly won’t be back to this one.

The biscuits and gravy had the worst gravy I’ve ever eaten. It was little more than flour and water. I can’t emphasize enough how there was no flavor. The waitress seemed like she would be happier anywhere else on the planet than to work there. Why is it called Lakeside when it’s a few miles from any lake?

The only person with a sense of urgency was the gentleman taking beverage orders and refilling coffee. I was unimpressed when after he delivered the beverages that he said our waitress will be right over. 15 minutes later, she stopped by. Simple order took another 45 minutes. Place wasn’t busy. 5 tables and 3 already had their food. Biscuits and gravy was a let down. Didn’t taste bad, but it just wasn’t good. Wasn’t looking for a quick dine and go, but breakfast shouldn’t have a 90 minute turnover.

I took a friend yesterday. It was her first time. She was wowed by the atmosphere and the restaurant. I enjoyed the food the most and relatively fast service for a large party being very near us. My friend said she wants to return when we can sit outside too.
