If you ever have an appetite for those delicious fried seafood meals, this is your place. Had the fried clams basket and it was outstanding. The clam chowder might be the best I’ve ever had. Love this place.

Strolling through Homer while on a food tour, and made a visit to Boardwalk Fish & Chips to see if they could excel with the combo.

$100 for—and I say this completely objectively—some of the worst fish I’ve ever had. Zero flavor, tasted like it was last seasons freezer burned harvest was dipped in unseasoned batter and dropped into old oil. We took one bite and couldn’t eat another. For a place that came so highly recommended I am shocked by how bad it was. I’ve had better fish from food restaurants.

I had one item from this restaurant. I chose cod fish and chips. It was priced at around $18.96. Chose the cod instead of halibut because the halibut was $26.95 and half the amount of fish as compared to the cod. The wait time was reasonable, about a 5 minute wait. The food looks very good. Golden fried fish on top of a bed of waffle fries. A small cup of tartar sauce, a lemon wedge and utensil. When I tried to break off a small piece to gauge the temperature level I was met with quite a bit of resistance. This is very unusual for cod. Cod being a light flaky fish, I should have been able to easily break off a piece with my fingers. Instead I had to use the supplied form and knife. Even then I was faced with a pretty good battle just trying to get the first bite. Once I did and for some reason decided to put the fish in my mouth I was met with a flavorless, chewy bite. The meat was very grisly, similar to eating octopus. While the batter had visible pieces of dill, it was very flavorless. I ended up tossing the fish and just eating the waffle fries.

Best little Fish and Chip joint in Homer. Always perfectly cooked, great fries and the view is perfect.

Halibut was nice. The batter needed a bit more seasoning and the fries were warm not hot. The waiters yell your name to find you if your dine inside or take out. Near the soda stand they have a faucet so you can wash your hands.

During an overnight stay here in Homer I really wanted Halibut (Halibut capital of the world!) We walked around and checked out several restaurants menus including a very popular place just a few doors down that encouraged reservations and told us it would be a 30 minute wait for a table. We walked out and decided on Boardwalk Fish and Chips. As you can see by my 5 star review we loved it. The halibut was moist not dry and was not overly coated with breading. And what it was breaded with was delicious. So was the house made tarter sauce and coleslaw. I highly recommend eating here. Do be aware that you order before you sit down, and they serve on paper boats. Not a fancy sit down with a server place but very worth it. You can’t beat the views either, see my pics!

The food was good but they stole my card # and charged me the following day and won’t even try to help make it right. The owner Shane McVay literally stepped into my face and aggressively told me we are done talking about the issue. As a woman I was shocked to have man step in my face like that when I hadn’t even raised my voice. So the food is good but please bring cash so the owner doesn’t steal from too. Women do not go alone take your husband, boyfriend etc with you so he doesn’t try to intimidate you.
