Well… finally a BBQ place that you don’t have to add BBQ sauce to the meat to give it flavor. I ordered the three tacos which comes with chopped brisket, peppered sausage, and pulled pork. I tried them all and they were all delicious. I was very impressed with the brisket because it had a great smoked flavored.

Driving from Houston to Dallas, we stopped by after reading great reviews! (This place should have thousands of reviews so please do one when you go)We ordered 2 of the 3 meats platter (ribs, sausage, brisket) and sides. The meats were seasoned and grilled to perfection! For the sides we had mac & cheese (creamy, cheesy with bacon pieces NOT bacon bits), the beans is mouth watering delicious, the baked sweet potato with all the trimmings was delicious! Their homemade sauces are finger licking good! I had the homemade keylime pie and it was one of the best I’ve ever had! The crust is #1 of all time!The prices are fair for the portions and quality. Ask for the owner tell him I sent you. If I could write a million reviews for them I would! This is now my favorite BBQ spot! Check out the backyard for great vibes!

I have eaten at a lot of BBQ joints, both in Texas and out, and the brisket induced coma I am in right now still has me both salivating and reeling. I am very confident when I tell you that this is not only the best barbecue joint in Texas, but very likely in the country as well. I am already excited for our next visit. If you are looking for some great southern barbecue at affordable prices served by the sweetest, most hospitable people on earth in an authentic country environment, than look no further than Bluebonnet BBQ.

Excellent cue that is served up fresh and flavorful with a hometown attitude of hospitality. This is what local tastes like! You may wait awhile for your plate and it will be worth it. Order a beer and enjoy the views of the pit fire in the building across the yard or ask about the venue spaces they have available. There is even a small chapel out back and a small stage in the dining room.

The Staff are friendly, engaging and respectful. The meats and sides selections were abundant and generous. The Appetizers we had were the Chips & Queso, Pork Belly Burnt Ends and Torpedoes. All were good but not great. We shared the Pit Master Platter. All the meats had a good flavor as did the sides we selected, (Pop’s beef n beans, Fried Okra, Sweet Slaw and Mom’s Potato Salad), lots of leftovers. Buttered Grilled Texas Toast on the side, so tempting but resisted to savor the rest of the platter. The choice of sauces were a nice compliment to the meats which did not need a sauce. The Dublin Drink selections were a surprise but oh so good. The Desert choices were good enough to bring home, for later enjoyment. Overall pricing was not bad, especially with enough leftovers for another family meal. This was our first time there. We will be back to try other tempting selections. Thanks for the wonderful experience.

We started with the burnt ends and torpedoes. Burnt ends were great and torpedoes were pretty good, sometimes they are spicier than others. The brisket was on point and this time I tried the pepper sausage instead of jalapeño sausage, pepper was good but I like the jalapeño better. Fried okra is always a must have side. They have sweet bbq sauce and mustard bbq sauce, both are good bit I like them mixed the best!

My coworker and I took a detour off our path on 45S to try this place and we’re not disappointed. The service was great. The meat had a deep smoke taste like I like. But the black pepper sausage & that mustard based Bar-B-Que sauce were the best. The brisket was moist and sliced perfectly. The ribs had a great pull 9ff the bone, but that sauce. WOW. And I’m NOT a sauce person. I’ll be back to try more on the menu and will bring more people with me.
