Exit off of i-75 now and go visit the small, charming town of Stanford. A random pic for a breakfast restaurant sent us into this beautiful town. The Google maps description of this restaurant did not do it justice at all. It is a farm to table restaurant with a stellar reputation. On the blackboard in the restaurant they list all the farms they source from and there are over 10. You could taste it in the food, which is delicious. For breakfast. I chose the bluebird omelette; onions, peppers, sausage and a smoked gouda sauce with homemade potato slices. Delicious and way too much to eat. The biscuit was delicious as well.

This was an amazing made from scratch restaurant. Once we got waited on and the food came out, it was fantastic. We started out with an order of house chips and smoked gouda. I had the bluebird burger with grilled onions and garlic aoli and french fries. The Mrs had the Appalachia Soup Beans (the bowl was hugh), with corn bread. The star of the meal was hands down, the White Chocolate pie, delicious!!

This was our first visit to Bluebird and what a treat! Service was outstanding! We started with an appetizer of homemade chips with gouda cheese dip and house made ranch. Chips were crispy and sauces were good. My husband ordered the Hot Brown and it was delicious! Piled high with turkey and cheesy mornay sauce. I ordered the Fried Green Tomato BLT. The bun was a brioche bun, toasted on the grill. Fried green tomatoes with swiss cheese and pesto mayonnaise. I loved it! It’s worth the trip to Stanford to eat at this gem!

I’ll start by saying my hot brown looked nothing like the picture- but it was still great tasting- so oh well! This restaurant is a gem for this area because there are few other places outside Lexington where you can get high quality eats like this. The menu had plenty of options and the atmosphere was also good. It was surprisingly busy too- which was a welcome sight. We got the hot brown and then a vinaigrette salad with blackened fish. We were surprised at how much fish they actually gave us- but also how little hot brown we got. No issues though because we shared and it was more than enough for both of us. Again, the quality of food (pretty much not being the normal fried whatever) was welcome and this will be a definite repeat for us.

Stop for lunch today. I had a FGT-BLT and collard greens. My husband had their catfish taco special. Both were delicious. Our waitress Emily was attentive and pleasant. The restaurant is bright and shiny. The atmosphere is welcoming and friendly. The food was prepared perfectly and the prices are reasonable. It was a very enjoyable lunch.

Great service and a nice waitress. The food was ok, asked for a medium rare burger and it came out medium well. Not much sauce on it. The side salad was a lot of kale. We found it overpriced, basically 3 burgers with salads, and 2 drinks for $63. We won’t be going back.

Our first visit, the food and service were great. Had the chips with Gouda and ranch appetizer, House Burger, Smokehouse Pasta, and White Chocolate Pie. Locally sourced ingredients for many dishes. Definitely will go back.
