Wish we had stumbled on this spot sooner in our trip! AWESOME outdoor space with a babbling creek running next to your table on the lower deck – it felt like lunch in paradise! We tried IPA flights, a couple fun cocktails/mocktails, the poutine was VERY good. Pizzas were decent, most of the meat was cooked well (honestly the chicken wings were nuked, hopefully that was just a one-off oops), the dipping sauces were good. I got the steak frites and honestly didn’t know what to do with a slab of meat that big. Wish it had been sliced over the fries or something. It was cooked well, though. Came back a second time for a quick beer on the main patio – this was more casual, upbeat tiki bar vibes with huge fire pits.

The service, the food, and the location were all excellent. They had some issues beyond thier control, but the handled it well, and made sure we had a great meal. The chef made my special pork chops that were fabulous. I can’t say enough good things about our waitress, the chef, and everyone on tonight.

Quaint dining spot located next to Mill stream. Great food and friendly service. I strongly recommend the waffle fry nachos with brisket!

This is a fun little spot with great atmosphere. The service was nice but a little slow. The food and cocktails ranged from “pretty good” to “Amazing”. Fried brussel sprouts were amazing, and so was the cocktail Foggy Bottom. They didn’t seem to have much for gluten free options. I got the Steak Taco but didn’t notice the tortilla wasn’t a plain corn tortilla. The fried fish was pretty good and some of the pieces were absolutely huge. Just needed multiple vinegar. The brisket sandwich was pretty good, it seemed more like a pot roast cut with BBQ sauce. We are planning to come back for more cocktails.

This is a cool little spot in beautiful Blue Hill. We just stopped in for a drink. We sat in the small lower patio right next to the babbling brook which fed straight into the Mt. Desert Narrows across the street. We ordered a cider and a beer. The server may have also been the bartender. We were there at a weird time of day. There were not many customers at the time. He was the friendliest and coolest server of the week. Three cheers for that. The drinks were cold and tasty. We decided to have some oysters and I’m glad we did. The oysters were super fresh and clean tasting, great texture. I quite possibly may never eat another Gulf (of Mexico) oyster in my life. I’d definitely return to this place.

Loved the waiter! He was adorable! And very efficient and friendly! Great service! Atmosphere- flies and other flying bugs …not really my cup if tea. But the babbling brook made up for some of that! Trying out stay positive bc the food and service was so top notch!! Thanks for a good visit! We may be back!

Bad experience overall. We understand it’s the busy season, but the service was terrible. First of all, because one member of our party is in a wheelchair, we had to sit in the upper area outside. This setup just doesn’t work with the gravel and wooden boards; the wheelchair got stuck and we had to get help to lift it out. But the worst of all, the tables are right in the line of fire for the cornhole boards, so the whole time we were getting hit with beanbags and people were constantly thumping them on or near our table. I’ve never seen a more stupid setup! Through all that ordeal, we waited well over an hour for our food, which wasn’t that good after all. Never again!!

I had a fantastic time at Blaze! The food was delicious, plentiful, and locally sourced which was a huge plus for me. The drinks were incredible and there was such a wide selection of beers and ciders and cocktails that there really is something for everybody. When I ate there I met most of the staff who were working that night, I think Nate and Oliver and Cyrus were their names, and they were all friendly and helpful and ready to respond to handle any of my needs. I also happened to attend on a Wednesday night where they were hosting trivia which was an unexpected yet fun surprise. Overall I would recommend to anyone who finds themselves in the blue hill area to stop by blaze for a drink or appetizers or a meal or all of the above, inside their beautiful space or outside in their wonderful back porch area. Excellent time all around!

We’ve tried Blaze in Blue Hill once a year for each of the past three years. Hoping our experience is unusual but we’ve had very poor service all three times. We sat outside and both tonight and last year when the service was slow the excuse was that things were very busy inside. Does this mean you should sit inside to get served properly? The beer is good, the food is pretty good, but the experience is painful.
