Blackies on the Square is a great restaurant that offers an outstanding bar and dining experience. From the delicious food to the fantastic drinks and live entertainment, this place has it all. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting with lots of TVs. Well our waitress was not very friendly first off she forgot about us and the food not very good I ordered chopped sirloin wrapped in bacon well it was only hamburger meat my sides were not good Mac and cheese didn’t have hardly any cheese and the fir hamburger meat patty was $18. My son had grilled chicken breast with beans and rice well the chicken was over cooked wasn’t even a real breast it’s one those out of a bag very small the beans so watery they had no taste and we waited for an hour and half and it was still not ready I will never go back

On 3 separate instances I have sat down at this bar and not received service. It’s strange honestly. On 3 different occasions, consecutively, I have stopped at blackies on the square, sat down and waited at the bar, and not received any service. The bar staff was present and tending to other patrons but I have been left unattended and eventually decided to just leave rather than be ignored. Worst bar service in Glen Rose.

Blackie’s on the Square handles large parties with ease! We have taken large groups numerous times and they always make us feel special! The food and drink selection is superb! Fun atmosphere all the way around!

The food was decent. It was hard to hear with the loud music, so our order was a little messed up. Overall the food tastes good, it was warm and reasonably priced. The drinks are strong and the staff aims to please.
