Will stop for açaí bowls. Whenever i see one on a menu i will get it. The Bright Eyes açaí bowl at Blackbird Espresso is a game changer. Combining blueberries and lemon curd in a bowl?! Nom nom nom. They are my two favorite flavors! The bowl was $10 but amply sized. (I got mine to-go but we ended up staying due to a hail storm.) my husband got a pastie he loved and my kids got brownies. The lattes were also delicious. The menu was lengthy, with plenty of options.

Am with Bicycle Adventures biking group and just want to take a moment to express my gratefulness and gratitude to Blackbird espresso coffee shop. Our group stop there from a 30 mi ride down spearfish canyon and the Acai Bowl and The coffee and everything was just beyond our imagination. It was so delicious and everybody at the shop was so friendly and so accommodating for our group of 12. I gave you five stars five times over. Can’t wait to come back and order again in the future!!!!

This is a cozy spot to visit in downtown Spearfish. The drinks are always great. The food is nothing to write home about but they are a good option alongside their great drinks. Service is a bit slow so maybe don’t go there in a rush.

Excellent find. The baristas were friendly and knowledgeable. Very clean establishment, including the bathroom. I had a pour over, which was made correctly and was wonderful. The croissant breakfast sandwich was fresh with quality ingredients. There is a comfortable outside seating area for great people watching. I’ll be back.

Went to an early morning breakfast here with my mom and sister. I got the avocado toast, which was seasoned well and had lots of great flavor. My mom has celiac disease and they were able to make her quinoa breakfast bowl carefully and gluten free. Important to note though they cannot do it ‘certified’ gluten free, but were accommodating to her allergy. The smoothie bowl was also very refreshing and had delicious granola topping.

I ordered the Ploughman’s Sandwich. It was delicious, but definitely needs more meat and maybe offer a side for what it costs. The drink was very good and staff was very nice.

The staff was friendly and the coffee was delicious. I had an americano and it had the perfect combination of espresso to water. I would recommend stopping here if you are in Spearfish and need a cup of coffee.

This is my first coffee shop I have been to in town so I do not have much to compare it to. Blackbird had lots of indoor and out door seating. They had great pastries and açaí bowls with homemade granola. Their strawberry kiwi tea and americano were delicious but they were out of their nitro cold brew. They only allow service animals and they forgot one of our items we ordered but they brought it right out as soon as we asked about it. Other than that, they have great service, great portions, and adorable decor.

Barista was very rude/entitled, and how the store is laid out make it disorganized and chaotic. All three drinks we ordered where not good one of the worst lattes I’ve had and our scone was soggy. Go somewhere else there are a lot of other places with better service and coffee
