Atmosphere and ambiance were very inviting but, that was end of the good experience. It was an extremely slow afternoon and the service matched the it (slow). Ordered the triple play chicken, red snapper, and smokehouse burger. Wife said the chicken was good, the red snapper was over cooked and had no seasoning and tasted of char. I asked for the burger to be medium and it was well done with the edges extremely charred, it had no sauces on it and was extremely dry. We will not be returning.

Family and I tried this place out. The staff was super friendly and the food was delicious!! I’m pretty picky about my food and I love my Country Fried Steak. The steak was soft enough to cut through with a fork. The breading had a great flavor and didn’t fall off of the steak once i cut it. The garlic mashed potatoes were fresh made and the brown gravy was tasty.

I hope with time this place gets better, I don’t mind paying for good food however the food that was brought to our table lacked in the flavor & presentation department. I heard such great things about the Newbern location so maybe they can bring in a few chefs from there to help the kitchen out some, my chicken was dry & unseasoned & the mac & cheese was a watery mess, the onion rings were ok but very greasy. The place looks nice, now you just need to put major attention in that kitchen. Kerstin & Christine were wonderful servers & very attentive and really they are the only thing positive I can say about my experience there

Interesting new restaurant to the area. They offer Alligator Bites and lots of other choices for appetizers. The Buccaneer Burger is massive and flavorful. They serve complimentary hush puppies with a Texas Roadhouse style butter to dip them in. I highly recommend you give this restaurant a try. I hope they keep this momentum going as long as they are open.

They are still working out the kinks so have patience. The cocktail menu wasn’t available which made drink ordering a challenge but the waitress found a way to help best she could with there specialty drinks. I’m a big seafood lover and living here on the coast I know good fresh seafood. The scallops were smaller than normal sea scallops and little larger than bay scallops. Not sure what they were but didn’t seem to be fresh sea scallops. I’d expect much better seafood from a place marketed such as this one. Floor was so very sticky everywhere. Maybe didn’t cure properly???? Needs improvement to have a chance at long term in the area. Keep at it!!
