Its good to have a restaurant where you know you can get gluten free food on the square. Amazing service and beautiful diner area. The food I can say was the same. I was pleasently surprised with the quality of the my meal and everything was colorful and full of flavor. I highly recommend coming here even if you are unsure about GF or vegan food. Staff was frendly and made me feel very welcome, definitely will be coming back

Great place on the Square in Monroe. Service was great. The smoked gouda grilled cheese with fried apple on sourdough bread was incredible! Sorry the picture only shows one bite left. Also a nice blueberry mimosa.

My wife and I had lunch at the Black Walnut Kitchen today. The service, atmosphere and food were all great! I had the Black Bean BBQ Burger and my wife had the Vegan Jambalaya. I tried her Jambalaya and thought it was very good; really flavorful and I didn’t miss the meat. The Black Bean Burger was one of the best sandwiches I had of any kind. It really delivered on flavor. It had two tasty sauces, guacamole, caramelized onions and slaw. We both had the dinner salad for a side. The Feta Dill dressing was delicious. Our waiter was friendly and very enthusiastic about the food and the chef.

A must go to for a yummy brunch! A couple of my girl friends stopped here on a Saturday and got food and delicious apple cider mimosas! The food is always fantastic with great taste and presentation. The coffee is also delicious. Everything I have tried here has been great. I recommend it to everyone!

New favorite breakfast spot in Monroe! Fresh, flavorful, and delicious. Gone twice now and all the food we’ve ordered has been awesome. Obsessed with the avocado toast with poached eggs. Quality ingredients many of which are locally sourced and awesome tea and coffee. A refreshing & delicious antidote to the heavy, greasy food typical to this area. Will return next time we’re in town.

The food was very good, had the potato leek soup and a bagel sandwich. Very flavorful! However, it took 1 hour for us to receive our salads and soup. And another hour to get the rest of the food and settle the bill. Much too long of a wait and we were seat immediately. It was an unacceptable wait time for the type of food we ordered. Probably won’t be back anytime soon. Hopefully they work out the kitchen timing as the food is good.

Very cute atmosphere. Food was mediocre. Nothing special and a bit over priced. Service was also mediocre, started out well but we were forgotten and wanted to order additional drinks, all while 3 of the 4 waitstaff chatted at the counter. I will try them again for a second chance to improve. There’s potential there and would like to see a local business succeed.

Great variety of food. I love Thai food and their Thai dish was amazing. I will be trying their Asian rice bowl next. Finally, I don’t have to drive miles to enjoy an occasional treat. Compliments to the cooks, staff and owner.
