Add this beautiful new restaurant to your list people! The food is fresh, delicious, and served by some of the best people you’ll ever meet. The family that owns this place are such great, hardworking people! The kitchen staff here sure knows how to put out a picturesque plate that tastes just as good as it looks! The bartender, Kirsten even made me a wonderful blackberry smash Mocktail, accommodating me and making me feel included as I don’t drink.

We LOVE the Black Lantern!! I have been a few times and it is always FABULOUS!! The service and the atmosphere is fantastic! We have sat at the bar and in the dining room both equally enjoyable. I always get the cod and it is excellent! The vegetables and the rice are so fresh, not loaded with heavy sauce or butter. I have been with friends and tasted other menu items and have never been disappointed!! Great cocktails too ! My new favorite restaurant for sure

Have come here a few times as it’s close to home but this was my last time. Came by for lunch with my daughter. We both ordered lobster rolls. Even though I noticed a strange smell, I took a bite. Strong lemon flavor at first and then just rancid. I was shocked. Not only was it rancid but they tried to hide it by pouring lemon juice on them? My daughter and I both gave them another sniff and couldn’t believe how bad they smelled. Sent them back, the waitress was very sweet and also commented on the smell. Cannot believe these were sent out of the kitchen and not to mention no one came by our table to apologize. They took them off the bill but I can’t even imagine if someone else was served this and ate them. Imagine getting seafood poisoning and paying $34 for a lobster roll at that. This restaurant should be embarrassed. Will never be back.

Granted it’s new and if they can get their stuff together it’s got a good ambiance. Some feedback:

we have got take out many times from here and from their other place trailside bistro. Food was good but then they opened the tavern, changed some of the best offerings at trailside(got rid of the bolognese which was amazing) and went up in price. takeout has been good and had the cod several times to go. The rice pilaf tasted like curry which i didn’t like it tasted like it didn’t pair with the cod. When i went to dine in for the first time, sat outside because it was so loud inside, service was slow, and although she was nice very inattentive, no silverware, or plates took while to get salt and pepper and friends drink tasted only of Alcohol not the craft cocktail she had ordered. The waitress did confirm curry was used in rice so since the cod was delicious in takeout several times i ordered and substituted for mash potatoes. Food came out had no flavor and didn’t have the buttery bacon topping advertised that was so good when got to go, mashed potatoes were a watery tasteless mess almost seemed like boxed potatoes and squash in medley tasted like they were bad, (Zucchini was good but nothing else was there like supposed to be in medley.) was hungry because didn’t eat much of food so ordered coffee and dessert, waitress never asked how food was either and didn’t seem to notice neither us ate much. Friend got steak tips they gave a few shriveled up tips and were ordered medium came out well done. Got coffee and it was ice cold and bitter she said she’d make a fresh one. I ate my desert which was very good and 15 min later i did get a hot coffee but desert was done. we did advise them they were off their game they did apologize but that’s it. My friend got one drink we split an appetizer and both got and entree and dessert and bill was over 100. No one offered anything and i did tip generously because they were short staffed and I felt bad but honestly left very unhappy.

We visited on their opening night for the public and were very impressed! We’ve been looking forward to this place opening for a while and we weren’t disappointed. The space is really welcoming and nicely designed…it’s actually a lot larger than I expected. Our meals were great and they have a good selection of beer and craft cocktails. We will definitely be back!

We have been to this restaurant twice now, and will not try it again. Both times, service was slow and unresponsive and the ambiance is completely overwhelmed by how loud it is inside (all hard surfaces turn even the dining area into an echo chamber). Worst of all, though, is the food – subpar and extremely expensive. We’ve tried the chicken parm (overcooked and dry), the short ribs (overly fatty and not a lot of flavor), mashed potatoes (cold and flavorless), vegetables (over salted) – the only things that’s OK is the chicken wings, though these are also over-priced. Most disappointingly, this new restaurant has made its neighbor, The Bistro, close down any dining service and they aren’t open for takeout past 8 PM anymore. Such a shame.

Wanted to grab a drink. Looked up what was open near me. Got to the OPEN tavern….walked in the OPEN door. Was greeted with a very snotty…..”We are closed for a private event”. We went there because their website said open, door was open…..then we were commanded to go out a different door we came in with way more attitude than was called for. Open on the website….open door…..and no sign saying private event. Horrible way to start a brand new business. Here’s hoping you don’t treat everyone that way . Despicable business practices here, folks.

We went to the private event for the soft opening. The restaurant is beautiful. The food and drinks were amazing and the owner could not have been nicer or more accommodating. Thank you so much for working so hard to bring this to Redbrook.
