Fine dining at its best in Amherst! I love Black and Blue for many reasons. The atmosphere is upscale but not pretentious. The food has been consistently good every time I’ve dined here. I’ve had many meals here, including business lunches, romantic date nights, as well as family celebrations. My most recent visit was to celebrate Father’s Day. They were kind to offer a complimentary beer for Dad. The crab and lobster fondue appetizer was flavorful. We could have done without the waygu meatballs. They used to be a favorite but have become a little sponge like. They offer a variety of steak as well as seafood options. You can turn any steak entree into a surf and turf for an upcharge. The filet, strip steak with lobster tail, and scallops were all delicious. They will also serve the lobster without the shell by request. I always have to laugh at the end when they bring out the complimentary chocolates. While much appreciated, they seem to be missing a little something in the presentation. The service was very friendly and attentive. They have a large parking lot, no need for valet. Reservations are also encouraged.

All in all it was a decent meal, but for the price I feel like it definitely could have done better. Ended up getting an appetizer of calamari rings which were not only spicy but amazing. We have ordered calamari other places and usually it’s dried out or just not have great quality, this appetizer is definitely want to get. The other app was pork belly with some type of slaw. The pork belly had good flavor but half of it was burnt on the, which was very surprising.

It’s definitely on the pricey side but it is so worth it. The vibes of this place is immaculate and the hostesses were very knowledgeable about their menu, not to mention really kind. I went for my birthday and it was the best dining experience. Be sure to make reservations because it gets full fast.

Food was decent over all I guess . Overpriced . You can honestly tell it’s a chain , feels like a nicer Longhorn . Service wasn’t great , minimal personality . The girl that packed our food left out parts of our dishes which was disappointing because I spent over $300. Save yourself the trouble and just go to Russels .

I’ve been there a number of times and unfortunately this wasn’t a good one. The server was very friendly but she never came back to check and see how my steak was. My friends food was excellent but Mine on the other hand, Not so much. The side dishes were also hit or miss. The asparagus was good but the sweet potato fritters were way overcooked . They cleared the table and then she came back to see if we wanted dessert So I think she saw from afar that there was a problem and avoided it.

Amazing service! We had barely drank any water before it was being refilled. Very attentive staff. Food was amazing! My only disappointment was that I didn’t get the birthday dessert even though they were informed it was my birthday. I’m not sure how you get the cake with the candle. It would have been nice but overall didn’t take away from how great everything else was.

Perfect date night experience Every bite was outstanding, from the lobster toast (I’ve never had better!) and the crab cake to our entrées of steak (cooked to perfection) and cauliflower gratin, Mexican street corn, and mushrooms. The cocktails we had, a lavender one and the vanilla margarita, were delightful! The service was outstanding. We can’t say enough about Black and Blue.

We went here for our 31st anniversary and what a disappointment. First they sat us in a room that resembled one I used to hold sales meetings in, absolutely no atmosphere at all. I gave the food 2 stars because my Black Groper and the wine was was good, but the other parts were not up to par at all. My wife’s Bistro / sirloin steak was very tough and the Cauliflower Gratin side was barley warm she did like her hash browns. The service was mediocre at best, the main server kept getting lost and the assistant acted as she should new! Very sad experience and we will not be returning it is not worth the cost, especially when the two specials offered were Ribeye’s were $99 and she didn’t even blush when she offered them.
