3 plates of food for $35 with military discount. Highly recommend the bigfood fried steak. Good portions. Waiter was extremely kind and quick with refills and requests. Also got my wife a sundae for her b-day for free! Would highly recommend coming for a good breakfast.

Our waitress, Vanessa, was speedy and took good care of us. The portions were a good size without overstuffing. Was fairly reasonably priced as well. Definitely deserves another visit. Great breakfast and pretty funny Bear signs like Abearica the Beautiful!

I’ve seen these diners all over and finally decided to try one out. Food was great. The pancakes were on point and the portions were great. The sausage was pretty big for breakfast sausage…

The decor is in line with a theme park. Very nice. The food was very good. The Santa Maria tri tip and red mash potatoes and gravy and broccoli were cooked perfectly. So was my husband’s tuna melt. Nice and crunchy. He is picky and he said he loved it. I love their “little less” menu. I didn’t have too eat a large portion and it was a fair price. Parking was easy. Prices we’re very reasonable.

The visit was great, although it was a bit busy and kind of felt crowded. There was plenty of parking to handle the crowd. Once seated, it was easy to see why this diner drew so many in. The food was awesome in portion size and taste. There was a small problem with a vent dripping, but the staff had no issue moving us so we didn’t have to deal with it, then they communicated the problem to other staff so others didn’t have to deal with the same problem.

We love Black Bear Diner! Unfortunately, this time the food was just not up to par. Corned beef hash was way overcooked as well as the potatoes (most burned). My egg was supposed to be medium and it was definitely over easy! The gravy was good though and our waitress, Yesenia, was so nice!

The Black Bear Diner was bustling with patrons, leading to a wait time of approximately 45 minutes. The restaurant features a compact parking lot positioned at a busy intersection. In light of these circumstances, we opted to seek dining elsewhere. The staff, though, remained courteous throughout our brief encounter. This was a Second location I tried to visit during the early morning hours on Saturday.

Used to go to the Black Bear Diner in Signal Hill but after COVID the service and food was not good anymore. The Buena Park location was much better. The chicken fried steak was really good
