I haven’t been in BJ’s Market since it was on 87th a long time ago. But we were grocery shopping and decided to stop in on the location at 95th Stony. The store smelled fresh, the salesperson friendly and the food looked good. I ordered the catfish dinner, peach cobbler and Carmel cake. The Catfish was made to order. All the food tasted pretty good!! The Peach cobbler and Caramel cake was very good too!!

I would put Zero If I can horrible Roasted Chicken almost Choked me out it was that Dryed out customer service guy talk for 10 minutes before taking my order I call up there to let them know that the Chicken was dry and the cabbage wasn’t done he said it was cooked today well it taste like last week I wouldn’t recommend nobody go there I’ll stick to Chi-Chi’s out west or the jerk lady in the lot by White Castle on 95th

By far the WORST soul food everrrrr. They have COMPLETELY fell off from the old location. This was over $32 straight down the drain. The barbecue rib tip was somewhat cold, dried and hard/tough as fu*k like it was days old, the mac and cheese was beyond blend and too cheesy and NOT in a good way. The cabbage tasted undone with too much banana peppers in it and let’s not speak on the sweet potatoes that had to come out of a can. Hell even can sweet potatoes taste better than this. My dog is gonna love it being mixed up in her food because that who’s only will be eating that sh*t. Highly disappointed and NEVER AGAIN! Popeyes here I come!

So sad to put this up here but, this bjs is trash now. I used to eat here at least twice a week just about 6 months ago and now coming back it has completely gone to trash. I usually order the smothered chicken or the catfish, mustard or southern style. Today I ordered some catfish, which was cooked absolutely terrible. All my food was cold, as well my cabbage wasn’t cooked all the way and there was nothing but cabbage in there…no mix. Mashed potatoes cold with no taste. I’m scared to even taste my peach cobbler. Hoping it’s edible

Firstly, I’ve been a customer at bjs market since the location was on stony island. The wait time for the food is horrible they are terribly understaffed. To top it off I pay 16.99 for 1 piece of catfish and two baby size portions of sides. The dark chicken include a quarter and two baby size portion sides. Give people what they pay for. It’s sad but this business will continue to go down obviously that’s why they had to relocate to a smaller location. Lastly, I had to turn around and order another fish and piece of chicken. The server looks at me and say “you had a misunderstanding about our food”. No misunderstanding for these small portions, you guys used to serve more. That’s a lot of money to spend for a sampler. This upsetting and definitely is my last time spending my hard earn money to these people. It’s looking like continuous giving our money to the white mans business. There the wait time is shorter, better customer service, and not jipped out our money. We have to do better black businesses!!!

The food flavor and variety is there; BJ’s is just too darn expensive for what you get. The pork chop meal comes with one pork chop, the beef Rib meal comes with two bones for a cost of $20. Also make sure you check your bags before leaving because little things that matter (like gravy, corn bread, cranberry sauce, etc.,) are often forgotten. The mac and cheese is below average, dressing is very good, black eyed peas, decent. Most deserts like bread pudding and caramel cake cup are $7 and those two were good tasting, but be prepared to pay. Again, good food, but either lower the prices or give people more portions like other places do.

I don’t know where to start…I have been a faithful customer of BJ’s Market on 95th for years. Whatever just happened today was sickening. My food was horrid, my candy yams tasted like they soaked in Tropicana orange juice with pulp, my smothered chicken was dry and undercooked. The staff looked as though they were at a funeral. I even had a friend from out of town come and try this restaurant as well and they were not impressed. Fire the cook!!!! Worst $80 I ever spent in my life.

I got my food from 95th and Stony Island. This is the final straw. The cabbage was crunchy with no taste. The gravy on my dressing was watery. The mac and cheese is like white peoples max and cheese. The sweet potatoes were cold and nasty. The corn muffin was tooooooo sweet. Even the cranberry sauce was horrible. Ugh! I won’t be back and I tossed this nasty food. I should have taken it back up there and thrown it right back to them. This place needs to closed down. I will be calling the board of health very soon.

They are one of the restaurants participating in the hot meals program for those with snap benefits. I don’t think so with these poor reviews. I still can cook!
