In 1950, with a $500 loan from his father, Bill Miller opened a small poultry and egg business. Three years later Bill Miller Bar-B-Q began as a small fried chicken-to-go restaurant. Today Bill Miller is a family owned and operated business with 77 locations in the San Antonio, Austin, Corpus Christi and surrounding areas.
We take pride in cooking all our barbecued meats in pits smoked with 100% live oak wood. 4/18/23 … I have ate at this place several times trying give the benefit of the doubt but I have tun out if doubts to give. My wife and kids do not complain but if they complain then I complain. The best part of our meals were macaroni salad and green beans….meat tasted boiled n was not hot nor tender. I am not one to gripe but if I spend over $120 for dinner it can be better. I feel there is no pride in the kitchens cooks. No wonder you hold 3.5 stars and keep dropping. You had better ratings when you opened but have declined fast…perhaps you need new crew members and cooks in your kitchen. By the way….your tea is good but I wanted my meal to be enjoyable too.

I got the half chicken, sausage, Spanish rice and potato salad. Was happy when I ordered but when I received it I was extremely disappointed. The rice looked and tasted like it was scraped off the sides it was so dry and the chicken looked like they cut some off the serve someone else “$6 for a half chicken is kinda high but even worse when you receive 3/4 of your chicken at the price” and was just as old/ dry as the rice. The sausage and potato salad was the only thing I could eat out of my $20 meal so I definitely will not be coming back.

Terrible experience. Took them over 30 minutes to bring me out 4 brekafast tacos. Simple breakfast tacos. The place wasn’t even that busy. I had to remind them of my food.

Placed an online order for $140 worth of brisket, ribs, sausage, chopped brisket and 2 sides. Food looks decent but be warned, they’re a bit stingy on the BBQ sauce, pickles and onions. Even with that much if a meat purchase, they gave us absolutely no BBQ sauce, or free pickles/onions and the brisket and ribs definitely need a little help of bbq sauce (very dry).

Took 20 min to get my to go order even though only car in line. Once I get order pull away and notice the complete order is wrong. As all 6 tacos had meat and nothing was there. Proceed back and speak to Alfred Jones who states he is the gm and his solution was to hand me a order of cut sauge amd straps of bacon. I guess it’s now build your own tacos. He then asked for the bag of wrong tacos back. I have never had an experience like this with a billmiller’s. Manager was completely un apolgetic and handled incorrectly. You spend almost 50 on tacos you hope to get right. Not to mention my 7 month old baby who had to sit on the parking lot almost an hour from the first wait till got the order.

If you are doing take out, be certain to CHECK YOUR ORDER BEFORE LEAVING. We were shorted 2 quarts of potato salad, although it was on the ticket and paid for. Going back for it was not an option once the meal was being served.

I’m not much of a complaining person but today I am, the environment walking into this Bill Miller seemed off the moment me and my family stepped foot into the restaurant. The staff were very RUDE, they were very stingy on their food and the portions that were given. The cashier Erica also was rude. Probly the worst staff member there! The brisket tasted dry and boiled and no flavor. Their potatoes salad seemed off so my wife wanted Mac n cheese instead, and Erica said well you can pay for another side. Don’t get their jalapeño peppers either because she will charge you for everyone of them! This was supposed to be a nice lunch day for me and my family that turned into us wasting food that just was not good and we were ready to get out of this place.

Great place for breakfast lunch or dinner. Quick and fast, food was really good with a friendly atmosphere. The brisket was pretty much falling apart so someone definitely knows how to cook it right. Would highly recommend if you’re in the area.
