Recently moved to the area and was told to go here by a local. I am so glad it did! The food tasted like it came out of grandma’s kitchen. I got the smothered pork chops with greens, cabbage, mashed potatoes w/ gravy, and corn bread. The pork was mouth watering . My son got the BBQ rib tips, the creamiest mac and cheese (his favorite item), and corn bread. To drink we had to get their Arnold Palmer (sweet tea & lemonade). Such a meal needed to be finished off with a slice of carmel cake.

We were in Louisville for a family vacation. Myself and husband always goggle good places to eat. He came upon Big Momma’s Soul Kitchen website and we were glad we did. Not once, but 2 days in a roll we got take out from there.The atmosphere is inviting as well as the beautiful owner. She welcomed us with a smile like we knew each other already. I got the fried chicken, cornbread dressing, and mac n cheese and my husband got the baked chicken and dressing, green beans, and cabbage. Everything so good, we went back the next day and got some more cornbread dressing, smothered pork chops , and some sweet potatoes. I love sweet potatoes, they did not disappoint. We will definitely be back , whenever we are in Louisville. Go to Big Momma’s Soul Kitchen, you will be happy you did.

Big Momma’s Soul Kitchen is the place to be. The food is cooked with love, and the atmosphere is absolutely the best. The service is like no other the greatest. You’re greeted with a smile and it’s genuine. Customer Service is everything to me and nailed it all. Let me add they have dessert as well. For each day they have a set menu and it’s all delicious.

I’m from out of town. I was attending a family reunion. The food at the reunion was not so good. We my girlfriend and her sister left the reunion before we starve to death. I don’t know how we found this place but Wow, the people were so down to earth and the food was fantastic. I knew it was great as soon as a bit into my fried chicken breast. Chicken breast is hard to get right. Big Momma nailed it. I’m from Pittsburgh and I wish they were close by.

Omg my soul has been fed. The dinner serves 3 people. Flavor wow, sweet potatoes, fried potatoes plus the chicken, cornbread, stuffing and gravy ooh la la . They answered the phone promptly and were clear and caring about helping me get there and explaining how they do things. I was there about 1.30pm on a Friday so fresh and not busy. Should have taken a photo I started eating and not thinking it was so good.

Food was great. I got the meatloaf which was great, the green beans were also really good, and the mashed potatoes with the pork chop gravy which was good.The price was a little high, however the portions where large and a meal can almost feed two people, so worth the cost.

The breading used for this chicken is on another level of greatness. My two pieces were salty though..also my beans were very salty so based on this I think it’ll be hit or miss. I tasted other family members chicken and it was fine. More than fine it was amazing so consistency may be a small issue here but the likelihood is that your chicken pieces will be five star taste. The sides were good. Dessert options are okay. Overall the chicken is whats important here and that was really good.
