This place was amazing! We were driving down 85 and looking up barbecue places and chose this one because of the high rating. When I pulled up and saw it was an old gas station I knew we were in for a treat. Cameron came out and I told him to get me the best thing on the menu to surprise me and he did not disappoint. The hash is amazing, The barbecue was moist, sauces were all amazing, the onion rings were phenomenal… I have nothing bad to say about this place. Cameron was so nice and knowledgeable and you can tell he sees barbecue as his craft and not just a job. Thanks again, Cameron, for the great experience! I’ll definitely be stopping through on my way to North Carolina next time.

We stopped here for lunch on the way to Charlotte airport and were not disappointed. We had read the reviews so we knew it wasn’t great looking from the outside. Once we opened the door we were greeted by the owner and his family, the place was very clean and inviting. there were five of us so they moved another table to seat us comfortably (most places would have just added an extra chair). The food was fantastic the prices were wonderful. My husband said the next time we are in Gaffney we will definitely go back to Big JT’S BBQ. Don’t pay attention to the outside of the building, once you are inside it’s a brand new place.

Really good. I ordered the Cheesburger. It was very thick and juicy. My boyfriend ordered the rib sandwich. The meat just fell off the bone and it had a great smoke taste. My boyfriends step dad ordered the wings and they were great too! Nice quiet place.

Very friendly people, nice smoky flavored pork. Nothing of note regarding the mac and cheese… I thought it was flavorless. Fried okra was edible. We came at opening one day and I don’t think anything was ready or freshly prepared/cooked. Paid over $40 for reheated leftovers. I do not think we will return.

What a great place! My sister and I stopped here while out and about and had a wonderful lunch. The pulled pork was delicious, the sides were great (corn nuggets-to die for!) and the sauces, especially Dad’s Secret Sauce, were fantastic. Cameron was sweet and charming and a darn good host. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Uff da!

Super friendly. Made us feel like guests. Food was very tasty. Especially loved the hash mixed with BBQ slaw. Do not be fooled by the exterior- looks like it used to be a gas station.

Stopped in after a long day of traveling with family from MN. Staff was kind and quick and the food was amazing. They pleased everyone from age 5 to 65. We will be back again for our annual trip next year!

I’ve been here twice now and absolutely adore this place. The food is tasty and filling, the people, kind and exceptionally friendly. I’d travel out of my way just to try some of their hash and onion rings again.

Don’t judge this place by its outside appearance or you will miss out on a great pulled pork sandwich. A friend spoke of this place like it was to die for and well he didn’t steer me wrong. A plus food in a d minus building. A true southern dive.
