The original location for La Bella Pizza was founded at the current Olsen location in May of 2003. While the word slowly built about the new pizza place in town, business began to improve.
Before too long a buzz was quickly traveling between folks around Amarillo. More and more people continued to try the newest in local fare eventually making it the busiest pizza restaurant in town. There were a number of ups and downs through the years as the business was sold and ran by a couple different owners.

Best pizza in town for sure. Great quality ingredients and excellent service. Have a few cold ones while you wait! Only suggestion….add extra cheese bc it’s just better that way

I’ve gone to Big Jim’s multiple times. The only reason why I’m giving it this review is for the most recent experience. I went with my family, 5 total. We have gone several times and love the food. However, this particular experience was frustrating. The food came out cold, as if it had been sitting out for 30 minutes, and we had been waiting for an hour for it. It was disappointing as we’ve loved big Jim’s. We like the atmosphere and the employees. But, when the restaurant was not busy and we had been waiting 45 minutes to an hour for food and it came out cold… I can’t help but make a comment to help them fix this issue. Might be a benefit to hire another person for the in dining so you have your bartender and waiter. If you’re looking for good brews and bites, I definitely recommend this place. But don’t be surprised if the food takes a while. And, as this experience, don’t be surprised if it comes out cold.

Excruciating experience. Late food that was cold or soggy or tough or missing. We ate a few bites because we (and our 2 year old granddaughter) were very hungry. Not worth the effort, the time, the money, or the calories. Would not wish this experience or the food on my worst enemy. Would give zero stars if possible. When are restaurants going to just stop taking orders if they can fulfill them? I am still waiting on my refund. Photos show what should be a child’s pasta but is just a bunch of toppings and stale breadsticks. Ribs tasted awful. Fish was soggy. Slaw was oddly seasoned and the only item that was hot. Fries were cold and soggy. There was nothing good except the delivery guy who looked embarrassed and apologized.

Looking for a Chicago style pizza..this is the place to go in Amarillo..Very large ..should of ordered the 10 inch..lots of left overs..very good, really good flavor.Sweet lady at counter. Manager came out and visited with me while my pizza finished cooking. Very good customer service..Glad I tried this establishment..Will be back..the menu is quite large..lots to choose from.Highly recomend!!

I lived in the Chicago are for 15 years where they knew good pizza. When we came to Amarillo Texas we had a hard time finding good pizza until we came to Big Jim’s! Best pizza hand down in Amarillo. Deep dish was never my favorite until I had theirs. We always get a large and take half home. Pizza is just as good the second time. Will be back!!

My husband and I were passing through one evening on the way to Oklahoma. Big Jim’s was sill open at 830pm. We had the cheese bread made Jim’s way with marinara sauce and supreme pizza. That marinara was the best I’ve ever had!!! The cheese bread was phenomenal. The ranch was good but ended up wanting more marinara sauce. The pizza has fresh ingredients and was soooo good! This is somewhat a hole in the wall pizza place; we are so happy we tried it. Service was great too! We will go here for now on as we pass through!

We started off with a 3 item sampler. We got the corn nuggets, pickle fries and mozzarella sticks. Very good! For our pizzas we got the Chicken Alfredo and Big Jim’s Specialty Pizzas. They were good, but not great. The crust on the Big Jim’s was perfect, the Alfredo was a little too thin, making the pizza a little hard.

I love Italian Beef sandwiches and was excited to find out they had one. I was OFFENDED at the size of the sandwich they brought me for $15 bucks! It was smaller than 6 inches. Wish I had taken a picture but I walked out after I told the waiter I wasn’t paying $15 bucks for THAT! I had also asked him about the onion rings. He said they were good. They look like they came out of a bag! I had a free meal on my company card and still refused to pay this amount of money for this ripping. Travelled to town. Used to live in Amarillo. Used to eat at La Bellas pizza all the time. VERY disappointed in this place. I hate to leave a bad review but this was ridiculous.

Kenny steals the show! Down to earth and has never led me wrong! 100% genuine family ran establishment with all of the perks of quality and taste! I personally request that anyone that reads my review take it, run with it, and experience AMARILLO’S best kept secret!!!!

I went here because the previous pizza business at this location was really really good. I expected the same pizza product in Big Jims, however when I picked up today’s pizza, I was sadly disappointed but then I realized that I requested lightly cooked. Just looking at it, the pizza seemed skimpy on all ingredients. However my pizza was exactly as I ordered it; and when I finished cooking it, it tasted great and I have no complaints.
