Stopped here for lunch and ordered the Spicy Miso Ramen and quickly received our order. The staff was pleasant and polite. The ramen was pretty good, but I felt the portion was a little small. The noodles were well cooked and the broth was tasty.

The gyudon is exactly like I have had in Japan. Perfect. Cost is not cheap but quality is excellent. Chicken Katsu curry was really good. I wish they would open a sit down restaurant so I could enjoy a wider menu.

Food is very very good and authentic. The price, however is way too high – especially for food court service and ambiance. At a better price this could be a semi monthly staple. But at that price it’s likely once or twice a year.

This place blew my expectations. Let’s start with the most insane thing, their matcha soft serve. I would go to this place if I was a Kona/Waimea resident every single week just to have another taste at it. It is served with matcha powder and caramel. Absolutely delicious. Now onto the food, the Tan tan men was really yummy, not super spicy and very hearty. The shoyu ramen was very traditional, reminded me of Ippudo in Tokyo on the broth and taste profile. I struggle to find good takoyaki, this place has very very good takoyaki, I was pleasantly surprised. I read some of the reviews before going, have no idea why anyone would rate anything other than 5 stars to this place. Give it a try if you are in the area, you won’t regret it.

They served with esteem generosity and humbleness. Went above and beyond to accomodate our vegeterian meal. Turned out to be a perfect halt for lunch.

We stopped here on our way to Hilo yesterday. We were very excited to try their ramen and other Japanese dishes. When we got there, there was a kid at the register that seemed totally overwhelmed. Maybe first day on the job? Customers were waiting to order and also waiting around for their orders. I ordered spicy miso ramen and salmon onigiri. I was going to order inarizushi but when I saw that they charged $8 for 3 inaris, I changed my mind.

I’ve eaten here many times. At first, the quality was better. Now they are clearly cutting back on the. higher quality ingredients and using less expensive ingredients. My mixed bento was pretty poor looking. Karaage, takoyaki, katsu, pickles and rice is not worth $25. Pricing should be around 13-14$ max. The pickles are not even traditional – celery and carrots? Sorry, I am happy to pay more for quality, but this clearly screamed “cutting back on costs” to me.

Fresh and authentic. Best California roll and gyoza we’ve ever had. Chicken karaage was great!
