I found this place while looking for lunch on the way home…. and it was good! I ordered the wing basket. The food was served hot! This is a take out place, so ask for extra napkins if you’re eating in the car! I couldn’t eat the macaroni because there was too much oil in it, but other than that, I enjoyed my meal! Customer service was top notch!

Ordered the asparagus corn salad that comes with blackened chicken and a sweet and spicy vinaigrette.I added ranch to mine. It was delicious! Asparagus is a little too crunchy I like it softer but that’s a personal preference. I’m excited to try some other menu items. The sweet potatoes were the best I’ve ever had.

Mixed review. It’s a stand alone place/restaurant, only available for take out. Major issues with delivery. Prices are nice, portions are great, food is always fresh/made to order/hot. My favorite foods are the mashed sweet potatoes and oyster Po boy sandwich, don’t recommend the fries they are always burnt. It’s black owned and I always support, but I absolutely hate the location. It sucks! No parking, construction in the way, one way street. Also, lines are always big and long so it takes time to order and receive the food, and they have weird times of operation. The in person times don’t match online. I feel like if it was better managed and run, it would be really successful. I their place should/could be open longer. Someone needs to also facilitate the staff to be more friendly when customers place orders. Lastly, be prepared to use the bathroom almost immediately after eating, all that grease runs through fast.

The absolute WORST fried chicken I have had. It tasted as if they thawed it, floured it, then fried it. It had no taste at all just crunch. First and last time I go there. Also, there is no dine in area which is fine but the inside area that leads to the counter felt unclean. I felt like I was getting food from someone’s basement.

Ok, being a foodie that travels for work, I eat at a lot of local places. I will say this was way better than I expected. The food was cooked fresh to order, and was great!! I ordered the seafood combo plate with fries, I should have gotten the greens! The cornbread is out of this world and I want the recipe!! FRFR.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the grilled shrimp salad!! It comes with roasted vegetables in the salad. I didnt know I liked zucchini and squash until I had this salad. Then the vinergarette is awesome!!

I tried the catfish basket & it was good. Catfish could have been a little crispier, the side of cornbread was delicious. I didn’t care too much for the side of mac n cheese, it was pretty bland. I would go back to try something else on the menu.

I went here on my lunch break. Both the cook and server was nice with taking my order and getting my food out to me quickly. I ordered the catfish sub & the bbq wings with Mac n cheese. Will be returning soon and letting others know about this place. It is not a dine in spot only pick up.

This was my first time at Big Herm’s and I will be back whenever I’m craving soul food. They’re one of the few places open on Monday’s which is a nice perk and the food is great for the most part. I ordered the variety basket with mac and cheese,collard greens, and mashed sweet potatoes. Everything was so good I’d taken a couple bites before I remembered to snap a picture. The cornbread was so sweet and buttery and the Mac and cheese was baked really well. The greens were a little heavy on the vinegar which I don’t mind but if you don’t like vinegar don’t go with these. I also ordered the wings which were on a special today and they weren’t my favorite. The Buffalo sauce wasn’t the traditional taste I was expecting, but they were still okay as long as you don’t go in with that expectation. I placed my order and had my food in about 20 minutes. Overall, great experience!

This is not the first, fifth or tenth time I’ve ordered from this restaurant. And every time I receive my food it’s perfectly made. My go to meal is the Grilled Shrimp Salad and the Garlic Parmesan Wings. Awesome customer service. Food prepared in 30 minutes or less. Perfect spot to grab comfort food on the go.
