Look, I give it 5 stars for the outdoor experience of being on the lake, their staff is always helpful, and cooking hand made food. Not because it’s a 5 star restaurant with fine dining. Their burgers are one of my favorites, with brioche bun. Their onion rings are crispy, but not too thick with breading. Just how I like them. I actually hate leaving this review because I don’t want it to become too busy. But I have to, because they deserve it. GREAT dive! Just don’t actually dive in the marina.

We had a great time on the 4th of July at the lake. This was our first visit to Big Daddy’s but it won’t be the last. Friendly staff and good food with a view. Add the shrimp to the cobb salad. Trust me. You’ll thank me later.

We try to come here when we have soccer games nearby. It’s such a fun place to let the kids be at the lake and see the ducks. The burgers are excellent and the onion rings are so good!!

Big Daddy’s on Lake Grapevine has truly transformed under its new management. Recent upgrades to the facilities have added a modern yet cozy touch that complements the breathtaking waterfront views. The menu offers a wonderful selection of dishes, each prepared to perfection, showcasing the culinary creativity that this place is known for. Service has remained impeccable, and the team’s commitment to providing a top-notch dining experience is evident in every interaction. The blend of fresh ambiance, exceptional cuisine, and a warm, attentive staff makes Big Daddy’s a must-visit destination. The improvements are commendable, and we look forward to many more memorable evenings here.

I wholeheartedly hate to leave this review. As, like many, we have been coming here for years. The food has always been dependably consistent and delicious. I normally order the patty melt. I saw on the menu that they are featuring a double patty smash burger, so I decided to give it a shot. What I got was definitely NOT a smash burger. First off, the beef was clearly straight out of a frozen box. The patties were each perfectly round and exactly the same thickness, unlike any smash patty I’ve ever seen, because they’re all uniquely pressed in their own way, right? The bun was picturesque, until it came time to bite into it. It crumbled like a dry cracker. Overall, it was the driest most unpleasant burger that I’ve ever had. The fries were the only enjoyable part of our meal today. I hate to say, I have absolutely no desire to go again, it was that bad. I feel cheated, because our longtime go-to spot with friends is now abysmal. The new decor is super nice, but I’d much rather have to the old style decor and reliably delicious food. I want to believe that this was a one-off situation, but based off the ingredients we had today, it seems unlikely. What a shame. With all that being said, this review has nothing to do with any changes to whomever owns this establishment, as I have no loyalty to previous ownership. I do want to recognize that the customer service was quite friendly and pleasant.

I hate leaving less than stellar reviews, especially about a place I hold so dear to my heart. We’ve been frequenting Big Daddy’s for 10+ years and absolutely love what the new owners have done atmosphere-wise. However, the menu has been pared down to basic fried food (with the exception of two salads) and the specials us regulars always looked forward to are no longer. Hoping the new owners are just testing out the waters and will start expanding the menu once they get more acclimated. Bring back the fish tacos, the ribeye, and the food runners. This place used to be so much better and can be again!

The food was overpriced. Mushy Catfish and rubbery scrimp.

Nice place to eat and drink while listening to music and see the lake, boats and ducks. It’s byob so be prepared. Loved my time there while visiting from out of town.

Chef salad with grilled chicken was $21.00 and on top of that they charged $1.00 for a water glass. The grilled chicken was unseasoned and looked like boiled chunks of chicken. I ended up not eating the chicken because it didn’t taste right. Definitely, not worth the money. The wait staff was unfriendly and acted like we were bothering them by being there
