Although this place is not aesthetically pleasing, the food supersedes all of that. We all know the local mom and pop restaurants are more delicious than the popular chain restaurants. I ate a mild smoke Sandwhich I ate 5 and wanted more. I even wanted to go back the next day. 10/10 recommend.

Front seating was dirty. Food was horrible. We had ears and smokes and the food prep could not have been worse if a couple of 4 year olds had made the sandwiches. Bread was soggy and other than the hot sauce there was no flavor at all. We had heard great things about the Big Apple but it was HORRIBLE.

Man! I enjoyed the 2 pig ear sandwiches I purchased at Big Apple inn at the State Street location! The place was clean and the service was quick; they was FRIENDLY! Thanks! I will be visiting again soon!

I drove around one day looking for some place to eat, something different. Found this place, went inside and the rest is history! Been coming here ever since. This store is very basic, nothing out of the ordinary but there is some homey feel to it. All the interesting stuff is actually inside that tiny kitchen, PIG EARS, smokies, bologna, sausage, etc…

Food was good as always the burgers seemed smaller and the prices higher. Be prepared for a tasty treat at a not so affordable price.

Look closely when you’re eating. I seen tiny little bugs all over my smoke. They were so tiny I couldn’t tell what they were. You cant even see them on the photo. Not to mention the big one which I hope was a piece of pig ear with long hair still on it. I wish I would’ve never taken that one bite. Thanks for ruining my fav childhood spot. Calling the health department as soon as they open Monday.

Never knew where Big Apple Inn was, but found it while picking something up off Northside & State Street. Three delicious smoked sausage sandwiches for under $5 bucks. Can’t beat that! Miss Grill Master is camera-shy but has a beautiful smile.
