This was my first visit. We had reservations with the special occasion noted as my birthday. It was packed so, we expected to wait a bit. Once we were seated, it took about 10 min for our server, Jonathon, to arrive. We placed drink orders and asked for water and bread. He said “They’ll bring it to you” and walked away. Another 20 minutes passed with still no bread, water, drinks, or Jonathon. He was seen catering to his friends he’d looked out for to get them a table and other patrons, but consistently looked over us. We didn’t receive some sort of service from him until we had to get up and go find him. The food was delicious, however I opted out of dessert because it was taking Jonathon forever to come back to the table again from talking to his friends and because other restaurants I’ve visited will automatically bring out a complimentary birthday slice, scoop of ice-cream, decorated plate, or something without request. It adds to the experience when attention to detail is displayed. Understandably, this restaurant is newly opened and you may have to smooth out a few kinks. However, this input comes from a good place because the city wants to see it prosper. Hopefully this review will not be dismissed and corrections will be made because we were looking to spend WAY more than what we did, but didn’t due to the poor first time experience.

Bianca’s is a lovely restaurant! We made reservations for Valentine’s Day for dinner. We got Bruschetta as an appetizer which was pretty good, a little too vinegar-y for my taste but my husband enjoyed it. I got the ceasar salad and Salmon as my entrée and my husband got the Ribeye. The salad was lovely and so was the Salmon. The ribeye on the other hand came out in the sizzling skillet. Yes, it said it would on the menu, that’s not a big issue. Although, if he had left the steak on there instead of taking it off and putting it on his appetizer plate, it would’ve overcooked. He had ordered it medium-rare. He also noticed while heading towards the restrooms that other people seemed to have the same steak but the cuts they had looked much better and less fatty than his. Also noteworthy were the french fries that came with my husband’s steak. They were small and honestly were only as good as any fast food chain’s. And in my opinion, if they’re going to serve fries with a steak in that swanky of a restaurant, they should at least, be thicker or some homestyle fry, not McDonald’s skinny fries. For dessert we had creme brulee and tiramisu. The dessert was honestly the best part of the evening. Our server was okay, he could even barely hear us the entire time and wasn’t the friendliest but I’m sure he was having a stressful and busy evening so I won’t harp too much on that. I just feel like there could be improvements made to make things actually worth the prices they are charging. Sadly, we probably won’t be dining there again for a while.

Lovely setting, great location, and very friendly staff but the food was not the best to me that night. Maybe it was what I ordered that night. The hamburger was kinda dry and the bread wasn’t the best. But the bread and garlic sauce that comes out when you get to your table is definitely delicious. Would I give this place another shot yes I definitely would. Next time I’ll just order a different dish. The price is kinda high for the food tho!!

Daniel was our server. He was very personable. We enjoyed our dinner. We had a very nice bottle of Chianti. We also enjoyed the mushroom ravioli and grilled chicken parmigiana. Definitely a must visit when in Albany!! Love the new upscale restaurant!!
