The best Ethiopian food ever. It’s a must to check out this place. We had the veggie combo and shiro and it was fresh and tasted amazing! Definite recommend for anyone vegan/vegetarian. The portion size is really good as well compared to other Ethiopian restaurants. The owners Johnny and Betty gave us the most authentic experience with the coffee ceremony and pop corn which is a plus!

Second experience eating Ethiopian food and Betty definitely didn’t disappoint. The food was fresh, tasty and delicious. We ordered the veggie and meat plate. The lentils were my favorite. From the time we entered, we were welcomed and enlightened on the history of Injera. Everyone was friendly such a joy. Will be back again!

Food is incredible, as authentic as it gets, and cheap. the Shiro and veggie plates are just so incredibly flavorful, and along with that they’re healthy. The owner Johnny is a super nice guy and creates a very comfortable environment which makes you feel like you’re in your grandparent’s kitchen more than a restaurant

The various stews, called wat, seem like home cooking and are very flavorful and rich. Misir wat, a red lentil stew, and gomen, collard greens, are particularly good. The kitfo (ground beef) and tibs (cubed and grilled beef) meat dishes are authentic and good quality as well, and everything is reasonably priced and served in a friendly atmosphere. The coffee is strong and delicious with a little sugar. Everything is of the highest quality, including the injera.

Betty Market’s food and ambience is the best in all of LA. Her injera is pure teff and is the best i have found in the US. The buna (coffee) ceremony is super authentic and heartfelt. Must visit for all those nearby, you will not regret. Betty’s Shiro is life!

I had the Awaze, Derke Tibs, and Spicy Lintels from Betty’s Market for the first time. It was honestly delicious. It tastes like homemade authentic Ethiopian food. Additionally, the customer service is amazing, they greet you with a smile and are very friendly people. I will definitely go back and try their other dishes!
