I’ve driven by this place many times over at least 5 years that I remember. Today I finally decided to give it a shot since I was craving for Japanese food.

Every time we can find an excuse to get food from Bento 39, we do it! The service is extremely friendly, not to mention timely, and the food is just outstanding. Our favorite is the pork katsu don, which we get “extra Dave style” which means with extra of the yummy sauce that comes on it. We recommend this place to everyone!

What a fantastic spot. From the outside it’s very unsuspecting, but you walk into a delightfully homey space with a very hospitable and kind owner at the register. I love the soft classical music and complimentary tea, along with the clear presentation of the menu. Then the food is faaaantastic. I’ve never been to Japan, but the food is delicious and home-style fresh. It’s become our weekly go to, cannot recommend more highly!

After eloping in New York City, my parents graciously hosted an impromptu wedding reception for my husband and I in my childhood home. We catered from Bento39 because my family is Japanese-American and we wanted to serve the food that we grew up eating and love. Though this store is known mostly for serving bento-style lunches, when we requested they cater our reception they happily accepted and exceeded our expectations!
