The food was great. Service was a little slow, but they seemed short-handed. Had the special and the asparagus was so flavorful. Added: Took down a couple of pictures because people used them as their own and complained about food and service. Take your own pictures!

Upon walking in, we noticed the decor was theme appropriate but seemed like it had been there awhile instead of just opening in April. Started out with the Appetizer Sampler and we had the Chicken Florentine with a House Salad and Chicken Parm with a Cesar Salad. Fresh bread came with the entrees. First the appetizer, which the waiter was raving about how good and fresh it was, looked like it came from a bag at the local grocery store. The shrimp were over cooked, calamari was very rubbery and the cheese sticks under cooked. Go figure! The salads also appeared to come from the grocery store. The Cesar Salad was just the house salad with a small cup of bottled Cesar dressing. Not romaine with fresh Parmesan and croutons. The Chicken Florentine was very bland and swimming in water. Looked like they dumped the pasta in a bowl and poured the chicken and sauce in to mix and then dumped everything on the plate. Did not cook it in a pan to cook out the pasta water at all. Though the Chicken Parm had a little more flavor, it was cooked in the same manner so the chicken was very soggy instead of crispy. It would have been a lot better had it been cooked correctly. As far as the bread that came with the meal, I can’t comment on since the waiter never gave us any. Only a few bites were taken from all of the food, appetizers and the entrees, and the waiter never asked if we had a problem with the food or if we were just full. He must be used to full plates being left behind. Do not eat here, go to the chain restaurant instead. At least they can cook pasta with sauce and have fresh ingredients.

Great food! Got the garlic bread appetizer with a side of Alfredo and a personal pizza. Best pizza I’ve ever had! Got it as takeout the same week and still good but definitely better in person! Even my daughter who barely eats solids yet ate UP the garlic bread. Super tasty!

Maybe it had to do with the time of day (I was here at 5:30 on a Wednesday), but I was incredibly impressed by the waitstaff. Got me to a table quickly, checked on me often, and food came out within 10-15 minutes of ordering.

Went in for a later Friday dinner and had a great experience. The bread basket was delicious as well as the lobster ravioli and pasta combo. The pre dinner salad didn’t strike me as anything special, but the lettuce was fresh and crisp. Will be returning!

Simply put go to fazolis for better quality and quality. The 1.5 hour wait for food to start, second the portion sizes are a joke at best! But all the wait finally it comes out cold I’m not one to even say much about warm food but when my kid points out hers is cold too then there’s an issue. I told the “manager/owner” whatever he was that had been standing there the entire time fratenizing, the issues and he blames waitress. Saying the plates have just been sitting there. I said why didn’t you bring them yourself then as a Manager of a understaffed restaurant you would think that would be his first priority but no. Wouldn’t recommend this place to an enemy I should have known when everyone’s telling me bad things. Listen!!! You can tell from the pic the size and just how cold it was! This is the pasta sampler for crying out loud! Lasagna, manicotti and ravioli. That’s all in the dish in that picture for 15$. Seriously the smallest place iv ever recieved as a main.

I got the chicken cacciatore and it was great. Had just the right amount of spice, not too much just a lil bit around the 5th or so bite. I would have given 5 stars but I also had an order of calamari and it was close to inedible. Some of the pieces were so hard, almost like they were cooked hours ago. Hopefully on my next visit they can redeem themselves on that calamari.

This was a great experience. First time we went and we went as a large group. The owner and staff were extremely accommodating on a Friday evening for such a large group. The owner personally checked on us during our wait, assisted us during our time there and was very hospitable. The service and staff were awesome, personable and I cannot rave about the food enough. It was hard to choose which dish to get because they all sounded great. Everyone in our group could not stop talking about the dishes we all got and were wiping our plates clean. It was a true family style la cena and very authentic Italian experience. So glad to find this in Lubbock. HIGHLY recommend Benito’s! Will definitely be going back.
