Bend Izakaya Ronin Menu – Bend, OR

Type : Japanese restaurant

Location : Bend, OR

An izakaya is Japan’s version of a pub or neighborhood drinking establishment. Izakaya’s have been an integral part of Japanese culture for over a century. Traditionally they are cozy spots where friends can gather, have a few drinks, eat some food and unwind.

They serve tapas-style food that’s meant to be shared among friends. Generally, you order a first round of drinks then look over the menu and start making selections. The dishes never come out all at once, but rather in a progressions and at the chef’s discretion.

These places can get loud and boisterous – but that’s the point! Izakaya’s offer a relaxed, comfortable environment, plenty of laughter and amazing food.

We take pride in every dish we put out.

Hands down my favorite sushi/izakaya place in Bend. Scott and his team create some incredibly tasty and interesting dishes. Every time I go there there’s something new and interesting they’ve created. You gotta check this place out!

Easily the best food I’ve had in Bend in years. Excellent, knowledgeable, attentive server. Delicious food! We got the Tatsuta Age (fried chicken), Sake Roll, and Chicken Curry over rice. Plus they had this cool little way of bringing the check.

I can’t rave enough about Ronin and chef Scott Byers! The food is more than food; it’s a feast for all the senses and a true culinary delight. Chef Byers is gifted when it comes to creating dishes that wow the palate! Eating in the restaurant is such a delightful experience between the gorgeous decor, the excellent service and the lively, connected atmosphere. If you’re looking for dining and quality over and beyond the norm, definitely go to Ronin!

Two of us had a great dinner on Ronin’s opening night and will be back – often. Izakaya is an appetizer style of restaurant from Japan, one we frequented often when we lived in Japan. It’s a place to meet friends, eat dinner or have some drinks before going to dinner. We’ve been hoping an Izakaya type of restaurant would come to Bend, so we’re super excited!

This place is has hands down the best Japanese cuisine in town. Bit on the spendy side but well, well worth it! Staff is great and are very friendly. Definitely an experience. I would highly recommend going here. We will absolutely be back. Also the Sake selection is fantastic. The waitress curated the menu and has an understanding of it that will knock your socks off. (Sake newbie here) Try these guys out and you won’t regret it!

Amazing. By far the best sushi this side of the cascades. Staff is awesome. Sushi is fresh and flavors are amazing. Many of the items are also gluten free, no substitutions required.

After a harrowingly disappointing experience at 5 Fusion Sushi and my wife and I’s palette for sushi yet un-sated by Bend’s offerings, we were recommended to visit Ronin.

Lisa Stewart
