What an amazing experience! This isn’t your fast food kind of stop! Since moving from TX to TN I have missed out on my Cajun food. So my wife surprised me with this place. When we pulled up the small parking lot was full. Once we were able to park we walked in and the place was packed. Everyone there knew we weren’t regulars. Mr. Bellue came out and introduced himself to us. Seeing that we didn’t have anywhere to be and I enjoy talking we hung around and learned a lot about his life of being a police captain and welder and the food that he makes with his amazing team. This review doesn’t do the place justice and words are not enough for an amazing place and amazing people. We were truly blessed. If you are the type of person who likes to travel off the beaten path and like to experience something amazing I highly recommend this place. Just be prepared it is a small sit in eating place and it is extremely busy during lunch.

Literally the BEST food. Before we even ordered, we were given samples of food to try, then when we told them we had never been there, they gave us even MORE food to try. When the food was ready I about died from happiness. The greens, beans and rice, and Mac and cheese were the best I’ve ever tasted. The boudain was so good it should be illegal. The chicken strips were huge and soooooo juicy. The people who work here were the icing on the delicious cake. They were kind and inviting and so sweet. If you don’t stop here, you’re missing out.

Me Bellue and his crew took care of us from the beginning we walked through the door. The food here was the best I had on my trip in Louisiana and made with the most love. I have never had such a good experience at a restaurant. Made me feel loved and my belly was very satisfied! This is a must have spot.

With a limited amount of time in Baton Rouge, we chose to eat at Bellue’s due to the previous positive reviews. They did anything but disappoint! The staff and owner were wonderfully kind and the food was delicious. We were able to try the shrimp/crawfish etouffee, the chicken and dumplings special, a shrimp poboy, and lemon cake for dessert. All were well-portioned, very reasonable, and very tasty! You can tell the owner enjoys what he does and that our experience is one of many, as evidenced by the kindness shown towards the customers who came after us, local or not. We will be back again if in the area!

Food is incredible, inexpensive and you receive a good bit of food!! In this time we are in, it’s great to have a full course meal for less than $20.00 I paid $12.00 for 3 pieces of ribs, white beans and rice cornbread dressing and mustard greens.
