I have absolutely fallen in love with this place. I got the carbonara sbagliatta and it was delightful! Very simple and elegant dish. The atmosphere was intimate and every table is accompanied by candlelight. Gianluca took our service completely to the next level. His level of professionalism, friendliness and customer service really made the whole experience for us. This is the kind of place you want to introduce to everyone you love. I will be back next time we’re in the city, that’s for sure.

what a delicious meal with great service and at a decent price point! came here to enjoy lunch with some friends on a saturday afternoon. we had the orecchiette, carbonara, puttanesca, and bruschetta. the texture of all of the pastas were PERFECT, especially the orecchiette. flavors were great (i wish the carbonara were a tad saltier but overall was still quite good).

It was amazing experience. First of all, servers were really kind and he passionately explained the menu. Absolutely, the taste of the foods were very good. Especially, cacio e pepe was fantastic!! pizza, gnocchi, pasta, salad, and even dessert were perfect. I would like to recommend this restaurant to my friends who will visit san francisco.

We were super excited to check it out. The interior looks fine, the service was okay too, but the food was another story.

This place has great food and excellent vibes, they took us in late and still provided wonderful service. My favorite was the ravioli as the sauce complemented the pasta perfectly. When you visit the pannacotta for dessert is needed, it was scrumptious.

Gnocchi was delicious, pillowy and soft, mushroom pinsa tasty but $4 sausage add on charge not worth it given that there was literally one piece of sausage per slice. Nutella donuts for dessert disappointing as not freshly fried and was dry. Service was excellent. Nice cozy ambience.

Such a cute little spot serving up authentic, down to earth Italian dishes! The portions were HUUGE (we left stuffed and with leftovers), we got the roasted brussels sprouts and cauliflower, pappardelle spinaca and the gnocchi sorrentina. I’m not really a gnocchi girl, but my boyfriend loved the gnocchi, and the sauce was really wonderful. The pappardelle had a lovely texture with the breadcrumbs and the italian sausage was delicious, but the sauce itself was a tad bland. It was otherwise a great meal, pretty reasonably priced and – the best part – they had free bread (with refills)! Strangely hard to come by in SF these days so it’s always a pleasant surprise.

After receiving very positive reviews I was incredibly excited to take friends to Bella Trattoria. Bella was busy when we arrived at a fairly odd time (e.g., 3:00 PM), which was a good sign. Our group ordered burrata, a cesar salad, gnocchi, and the not carbonara. I was very underwhelmed with our experience. The bread was not toasty or warm, the appetizers were ok, and the pastas were average. I had high hopes and felt disappointed Bella Trattoria did not live up to the expectations.

We went on a Thursday night wanting a quick meal before heading to California Academy of Sciences for the nightlife event. We were welcomed with a sample of fried polenta and complimentary bread and olive oil with chili. We ordered the rigaton, and the penne entrees with a glass of sangiovese. We were also given complimentary panna cotta for dessert. Wish we had more time to enjoy the ambiance.
