Wow!! Great experience, and customer service!!! Food was delicious my husband got the jerk chicken and I got the brown stew chicken! Very inexpensive for the amount of food you get! We will be back definitely!!!

After tasting Caribbean influenced beer at Montclair Brewery we needed Caribbean food! We found Bekka’s tucked in on a quiet street in a cozy neighborhood and were treated to yummy Jamaican meals. Jerk chicken, curry chicken, sweet plantains, rice and beans, stewed cabbage. And you had better like it spicy because Bekka does not hold back. The curry was . The medium and large dishes were both enough for 2 meals. I want to explain the “atmosphere” rating though. This is mostly a take-out spot with 1 table and a small counter. Not typically what would earn 5 stars but I don’t think it’s fair to take stars away when a spot offers exactly what is expected. It was clean and tidy and that’s all that matters IMO.

The other day I got Bekka’s Bakery Jamaican Cuisine for lunch. I ordered their Oxtail Dinner w/White Rice & Cabbage. Absolutely loved the gravy the oxtails were in! The oxtails were cooked to perfection as well too. They were falling off the bone, yet sturdy. The cabbage was phenomenal as well! I would absolutely recommend Bekka’s Bakery to anyone in the East Orange/Bloomfield area. Great food. Can not wait to try their other dishes. The stew beef looked amazing!

You will not regret this! My husband and I were in the mood for oxtails and decided to go here based on the reviews! My husband found out this spot is newly owned by a woman who cooks in homage to her mom.

The minute I entered the restaurant I was warmly welcomed. I’m not sure if the young lady sharing my food was the owner but we had light conversation while she prepared my food. Now for the food…..let’s just say I am DEFINITELY going back. First off the rice was shelly (just the way I like it) and I had fried chicken and oxtail and it was finger-licking good. You know those hidden treasures that tends to have the best food, this place is it. My recommendation is to find out for yourself and not just take my word.

Saw this place just driving by. I’m happy I stopped. I ordered the ox tails and they were delicious. ( and I had extra gravy). Then I went back during the week and had the curry chicken. Just as delicious. Great customer service with a warm welcome.
