Food is served family style (all menu items brought to the table). Seconds are free, thirds incur an additional charge. Drinks are included in the price. The menu varies by the day, the picture is of the particular day we visited (a Sunday).

A unique dining experience that flawlessly blends white table cloth fine dining and friendly family dining. You’re mostly limited to whatever they made, but the food is plentiful and delicious. The prices are even quite reasonable. I’m a picky eater, but have no complaints here. Leave room for dessert, you’ll definitely want to try the pies.

We had a wonderful meal and enjoyed the dessert also. Family style and there was enough for everybody. We enjoyed the sides as much as the entree.

We secured this location for my daughter’s Graduation and it was PERFECT!! We had 20 guest. The set up was in a private room with enough space for everyone to move around. The decor was nice and cozy, cleanly and staff was amazing! They were sooo accomodating. We had a whole photo shoot on the stairs…lol! We ate family style at each one of our tables which set the atmosphere. The food was seasoned well and had vegetarian options. We had fried chicken, ham, green beans, broccoli, rice, mash potatoes, gravy, black eye peas and macaroni salad, biscuits with deserts and drinks of your choice!! If you desire good food, good atmosphere, cleanliness and great accomodating staff then this is your place!!! We will definitely be back for graduation #2!! #GSGrad22

Certainly an interesting dining experience. It’s located in a historic building, and the inside certainly feels original but well kept. The food when we went was a pre-set menu for lunch, and you get plates of that food when you sit down. You can get seconds of all options. The fried chicken was amazing, along with the squash casserole. Other items were alright, certainly old southern cooking for sure.

We went to The Beaver House food and atmosphere was great except the ham was sliced so thin , the biscuits were so thin and dry and they didn’t bring us any butter for them. The vegetables and fried chicken were great but we were unpleasantly surprised when the drink or dessert wasn’t included so 53 dollars that included a 5 dollar tip was a lot for lunch after mass on Sunday, will think twice before returning.

WOW I had to start this off with a wow this place was amazing! Being new to the Boro I was not aware that this gem was just sitting there. If you want to experience true southern food and I mean this is the real deal folks! Everything from cathead biscuits(a term I heard from my grandma all my life) to peach cobbler that will literally melt in your mouth if you haven’t been here I have one thing to say. What the heck are you waiting for????? From the staff the food and o my what a story and it’s all true wow. Beautifully decorated in antique southern style this is a class act. I truly can not do this place justice I promise go see for yourself like I said don’t wait. From the food the atmosphere the staff and ooooo that food served in a old school southern style where you gather and pass serving bowls just like we did as kids! It’s exquisite beautiful and did I mention that the food is AMAZING but don’t forget the story behind it all. It’s a story that draws curiosity mixed in with a family setting and beautifully decorated. This review will not do this place justice at all go see for yourself you won’t regret it. It’s like stepping back to a simpler time something that is desperately needed in today’s busy world. I’ve never been in awe of a restaurant but these folks have the right stuff and I promise you won’t leave hungry and you must get the story. I mean it’s a haunted resturant so beautifully decorated if there’s a formula for the perfect resturant these folks have definitely found it I don’t even want to call it a resturant because it’s so much more it’s a family going back generations with real food that took me straight back to my childhood homemade and fabulous. The Boro has a lot of eating places to explore but this by far has been the best and my personal favorite. Make sure y’all say hi to Annie!!!!

I found this little gem of a restaurant snuggled in a historic old southern house in downtown Statesboro. The price was incredible… $10 for all you can eat family-style buffet, and $4 for dessert. The meat portions were small, but given the volume of food provided, absolutely fine, and you can ask for more! Now for the bad. The service was soooooo slow. Waited for 10 minutes, didn’t get my drink for 20 minutes, and 30 for the food. The waiter needs a few tips on managing a busy crowd, since there was only one. Not surprising, given the labor shortage. Greet your customers, get their drinks, make sure there’s no allergies (ordering isn’t necessary given the format, but I didnt know that at first but there might have been an issue if there had been allergies.)

Took my dad here when he was in town visiting. Wanted to show him someplace unique to Statesboro that he wouldn’t necessarily find back home. It was perfect! The country home cooking was delicious and the historic building was the perfect atmosphere for a quiet brunch and a lovely visit. Would definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for something different with some historic flare.
