Great place right off the harbor. Open air seating area brought in a nice breeze. The food was delicious and well cooked. They had a lovely band when we were here. Tammy Madson and the Lowdown, they made the place light up with music!

It was my first Sunday off in two months and my friend and I went to Beale’s Texas BBQ. As we entered the restaurant, we were immediately greeted and invited to choose our seating. They have several tv’s, so I could watch the NBA game while eating. We were able to order quickly and the server was patient with us. Beale’s came highly recommended and I was not disappointed. Though I don’t eat red meat, I do eat hot links 2-3 times a year. The menu allows options for 1, 2 or 3 meat combos, yay. I ordered the chicken with links, collard greens and yams on the side, I enjoyed it all. Then I had peach cobbler, good however more crust would make it great. I will definitely go back.

I had a free day, so I jumped in the car and played the “Let’s eat somewhere new today”. I’m so glad I pulled into Beale’s Texas BBQ. I got there for Happy Hour (4-6 weekdays). Sat at the bar and started chatting up the bartender and came to realize I was speaking directly with Brett Beale himself! He gave me the whole walkthrough and I got the Brisket and Hotlinks with Honey Cheese Cornbread and Mac N Cheese for the sides. I also learned about a Happy Hour special not on their menu: “3 ribs and a side”. I got potato salad with that.

Flawless victory! All the food was outstanding, best collard greens I have had outside of Bellue’s in Baton Rouge LA, the service was top notch, and a view of the harbor. What more could you want? The establishment was super clean and well spaced. Really fantastic experience, next time you thing about going out to a big chain….come here instead. Better food and people that care.

Looking forward to returning and trying something different. I read a review where the meat wasn’t served with very little BBQ sauce on it which is true but when my meal of ribs and brisket came extra sauce was offered. Me personally do not like a lot of sauce I like to taste my meat. Ribs were moist and flavorful and the brisket was some of the best I’ve ever had. I had collard greens and coleslaw for my sides and let me tell you if you’ve had greens as many times as I have you would agree that Beale’s was the best I’ve ever had. I wish I had extra cornbread to dip into the remaining juices! We’ll return for sure.

Food: The food was hit or miss. To start the ribs were really good. Juicy and had a ton of flavor. The brisket however was dry and plain. We even asked before if it was dry, and they assured us it was not. The pulled pork sandwich was tender and juicy with a fresh bun. The Mac n Cheese however was soggy and not well formed. The greens were good but nothing special.
