My sister’s and I enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. My meal was the shrimp nachos just out of this world. And dessert was carrot cake very good as well.

Amazing time here. Food was amazing. I don’t offer my compliments to the chef often but made it a point to call out the amazing jambalaya here. For being in Illinois and not New Orleans this was a pleasant surprise. Everyone in our party had similar experiences with the hot ham and cheese, which was a big hearty serving to the pretzel chicken. I can’t wait to come back and try the seafood! Loved it.

If there’s a place in Illinois that makes better Jambalaya, or spinach artichoke dip than the Beach House, I would like to know where! Thank you Angie for making an amazing drink for my wife! Thank you Joyce for the great service, and thank you Kenny for being Kenny! Thoroughly enjoyable meal!

We celebrated my husband’s birthday tonight & the Beach House was top notch on the service & culinary cuisine. Our server was very friendly, efficient & patient with us. He made sure we always had our drinks full & our food was to outr liking. My husband & I both had the Chefs special which was a culinary orgasm. Thank you for making this a special birthday dinner.

This restaurant has the best views in Decatur, hands down! Our food was delicious and the service was friendly and prompt. Will definitely return again to try something new. I highly recommend being seated on the patio for dinner.

Feels like this place is beginning to decline. In years past this was a go to; but this recent experience was below expectations. I ordered Triggerfish which was sold out even though we arrived at 6pm. The Sea Bass (choice 2) also sold out. Ordered the 5oz fillet medium as choice three. Steak was cooked well done, but would be hard to cook medium as it was only a half inch thick. The potatoes were great, the beans were good but not much flavor, added salt and pepper which took them from nothing to good. Hopefully this place will get things back together as it offers the best view in Decatur.

Food was just not good. the pretzel crusted chicken i got was extremely dry and so tough i couldn’t cut it. Not very flavorful either. The fried calimari was actually gross and i LOVE fried calimari. Ive never had it before where i didn’t like it until now. It was also lacking flavor and was not tender at all. honestly, it had a freezer burnt taste. the mashed potatoes were the only good thing i can say i got and i have to say those were actually REALLY good, although they were gone in two bites as the portion size was like someome literally took two normal eating spoon sized dollops and called it a side. It wouldn’t have even filled up one of those little to go condiment containers. Unfortunately, i probably won’t be back. Its weird because ive heard good things about this place. My experience was that the food quality was just plain poor and absurdly small portion sizes definitely do NOT warrant or justify the astronomically high prices. Service was good and staff were friendly at least.
