The guy at the front desk was very awkward messed up my order due to a menu mix up which is understandable he just ignored me when I first came up to the desk when I was ready to order and went to the back kimchi was great they don’t take big bills which was kind of annoying the chicken I got was great in the bento box just wish they had descriptions on what the sauce tastes like and more description on what comes in the bento box the salad feels very out of place now onto the jjajangmyeon it was good no complaints

i used to dine in at Soban before, now I get takeout from here weekly. I love their food and I hope they stay in thayer for a long time. love the BBQ Chicken, the secret spicy wings are it was my first time trying the cheeseling chicken and i was not disappointed.

Normally I’m not in the camp that believes that you should tank a restaurant review just based on customer service, after all there are some places where the food is excellent and the service is the opposite, everyone knows it, and that’s okay. The experience I got tonight was comically horrendous, and the lady who provided this horrible service was hyperfixated on the US open men’s final match between Alcaraz and Ruud to the point of not taking our order, huffing and puffing, and hanging up on orders, and waving off other potential customers and ignoring the service bell when other customers arrived, all to watch some TV. I’ll also add here that the food was merely average and does not even close to make up for the terrible service.

Mixed feelings about Soban. I’ve had the soft tofu beef stew countless times, but on several occasions the ingredients would be different or the soup would taste wrong. When it was right, it was great, but ordering it seemed like a coin flip.

This had to have been one of the worst dining experiences. They brought us the wrong food, we took a bite, and the waitress came and said ‘shhh’ and took the plate, put it back on her cart and delivered it to another table. We were shocked and unsure what to do. When our food finally came out, it was underwhelming and did not taste fresh. Will never go back.

When Soban reopened with the bbq chicken franchise we were all excited. When I am in NYC I would stop by that location there. I have to say this Providence location in terms of crispy chicken, flavors, and wing size is better than the one from NYC. The owner really knows how to double fry and season the wings.

The worst restaurant I’ve ever ordered from. There used to be a really awesome guy running the place, but the woman currently running the restaurant is extremely rude (clapped at my friend’s face to tell him to finish inputting his tip faster, harasses Snackpass orderers and shoos them out of the store). I ordered 16 pc boneless wings on Snackpass; I got my order and the woman personally saw me take my order without problem, but turns out my order only had 8 pieces of chicken in it.
