Not a bad place to go dancing, listen to a DJ and have a drink or two. Last day in Alexandria and the lady and I needed a place to chill and get a little crazy.

So my a group of friends went out to dinner last Saturday . We got all dressed up and to 219. The decor inside was very small yet cute . We sat in a back room behind the hostess stand (the downside is we kept feeling the cold draft of wind coming through the door )

Disclaimer I have not tried the food or drinks. Have only been here for the night live with friends. The biggest reason we go is to listen to music and dance the night away. From what my friends tell me the drinks are average, nothing special about them. The ambiance great, feels cool walking down into the basement and then see this the crowded small room filled with people dancing. Probably my favorite place to go and dance in the old town area. Nothing like the DC scene but great if you had a late dinner and felt like letting lose without going to far.

It has such potential to be a hot spot for dancing. DJ is hot! My sadness is the antiquated idea that people want to party in a windowless basement full of nicotine and cigar smoke like its 1949. Which is probably why there were only 3 people in there smoking their life clock down.

Server thought they could uber over charge for tiny tartes on my bday. Sadly they got away with it. Food was great. So was the key lime tarte. My friend wants to go back.

DO NOT COME FOR SHOTS!! $100 for 6 pre-mixed green tea shots in plastic cups. Pathetic. Music was good and fun crowd

Always a fun place to dance late-night in Old Town! When it’s not busy, the full menu from upstairs is available — 219. It’s high-end French Creole (and Cajun?) food and very good.

This is probably the worst bar I have been to in my life. If you go here expect uncomfortable touching, rude patrons and staff, garbage and expensive drinks, and smoking.

I had the one vegan entrée. It was very tasty. Wish they had more options.
