Pretty good place – I enjoyed the fried shrimp- the gumbo was reportedly worth a return trip

Excellent food, fried seafood baskets have huge portions and are great! The gumbo is outstanding and they actually have fried softshell crabs! I moved to Kerrville and am from New Orleans and had low expectations and was blown away! Love this place, one of my favorites in Kerrville!

The food was wonderful, the calamari strips were thick and very good! They were good. The batter on all the fried food is great well seasoned. all of the food was awesome. All the dipping sauces were on point and the staff was wonderful.!!

Wow! What a great restaurant. The food was tasty and perfectly made. My wife and I both got the shrimp and grits and the meal was tremendous.

We should have known by the empty parking lot. 7:00 on a Wednesday. We ordered Chicken and Sausage gumbo (bowl) Shrimp Cocktail, side Caesar salad and a large garden salad. The shrimp were tasteless, limp and small, cocktail sauce was blah as well. The salads were just tossed out of a bag, no croutons the garden salad did not have any noticeable vegetables, a sliver of red onion, a pinch of tomato and a teaspoon of cheddar cheese. So pitiful! The gumbo was good, nothing to write home about. The first couple of times we tried this restaurant it was much better. We won’t be back, our waitress was sweet and not her fault that the food is mediocre.

I was with a Lunch group of eight people, and we were served quickly and efficiently. I ordered calamari and a fish platter. It was all excellent! All the folks around me were very satisfied with their food as well. The restaurant was full, but we had no problem hearing each other. And the banana pudding is to die for!

What a great surprise and find the Bayou was the other day. Honest to goodness Cajun in the Texas Hill Country. I kept it simple and had a single menu item with ice tea. The Crawfish Étouffée was superb. Better than anything I have had in the greater San Antonio metro are and the Surrounding areas. You owe it to yourself to make the drive to Kerrville down Hwy 16 to enjoy some true Cajun cooking.

This location has been several different types of restaurants over the years. It’s hard to do much more than what’s been done to change the existing atmosphere. The food and people are what makes this place great. Dishes that automatically make you think New Orleans are all over the menu. And the presentation plus flavor is all you could hope for.

What a hidded gem!!! We ordered mudbugs and they were big and delicious!! The raw oysters are large and very good. We were visited by the owner and chef to ask how our meal was. That is rare and shows they really care about their customers. I highly recommend checking them out.

I came in and asked for a table, the man who sat me seemed annoyed to have to seat a customer, as well as lost to where he could possibly seat a single person in a completely empty dining room. Then my waitress had an annoyed attitude as well, not off to a great start here. I ordered the Crawfish etouffee and the flavor was just bland. The sauce tasted like water, and the crawfish like rubber. Some of the rice wasn’t fully cooked, and felt like you were eating granola.
