We had been recommended this place. Environment was ok, you could see all the cooks in the back kitchen which was cool. Food was good and portions sizes adequate. Some plates the flavors were a little too bold or overpowering with one flavor, in comparison with other Indian restaurants we have gone to. Very reasonably priced. Online ordering easy to use. Will definitely come back.

Friends recommended this place to cater an event and I was blown away! Nav and his staff are the best! The ordering process was easy and they helped with portions and dishes. So quick and friendly. Now to the food: Amazing! Great flavors and spice. Fresh. Fresh! Fresh!!! Will definitely be back with the family and ordering for large events again.

It did take a while for the foods to arrive. The naan was top notch, the goat bhuna and chicken was good but the chicken was a bit undercooked. Gajaar halua wa absolute disaster though. No ghee no freshness, they just took it outta freeze and warmed it up in oven. Stale and waste of money

We finally got to try Bayleaf Indian restaurant after seeing it for some time. We arrived right before 1pm (for a late lunch) and got seated right after entering the restaurant. Inside the restaurant is not too big and there are two windows allowing the kitchen view from the dining area. We ordered Chicken Biryani, Butter chicken, plain and chilli naan, for appetizer we got Mixed vegetables Pakora, and Madras soup (Creamy tomato soup). Appetizers arrived fairly fast, but the rest of the dishes took some time because I believe there was a catering order. After completing the catering order, all our dishes started to arrive. From Pakora to Chicken Biryani, all dishes served had great flavors; in my case, I found myself becoming very fond of the chilli naan… I never had the chilli naan before and it blew me away. Very glad to have visited the place, adding another great Indian restaurant to our list.

We drove from all the way south 40 minutes to try this restaurant. And after the drive we had to wait for more than an hour for food to arrive. BUT THE WAIT WAS TOTALLY WORTH IT!! My god, food is so delicious and proper Punjabi. Not just some orange curries with paneer pieces in them. But purely authentic. I hope they keep on with the quality and taste over the time. The menu has so many unique items that you won’t find in typical Indian restaurants in states. We had Missi roti (never saw this item in menu around Austin Indian restaurants) with saag paneer (not your typical tasteless palak paneer you get in other restaurants with blended spinach and paneer) Both were amazing. We also had Paneer Peshawari and it was super delicious. It had some fried potato slices and maybe sweet pineapple and paneer, bell peppers, cashews, raisins, fried caramelized onions and some tasty tomato pieces. Never had such unique paneer sabzi in states with all balanced spices. We need to try all vegetarian specialities on the menu now. The butter garlic naan was super soft yet the edges were nicely crisped in authentic tandoor with amazing Smokey flavor from fire. Portion size is not that great with respect to price but the taste makes up for quantity. Wish they were not short-staffed as wait time can be improved. So if you’re going here during weekends or peak hours, please expect longer wait times as the place was tightly packed with customers.

It’s pricey. For the quantity of food and for the ambience, the price they offer is on the very high end. The food was ok. The lamb curry could have been cooked more well. The lamb was still very tough. The samosa was the only relief. It was cooked perfectly fine. I need to mention the Gajar Halwa, spoiled everything. How can the halwa be spicy? Either the staff did not clean the utensil properly. We were so much looking forward for the halwa and it turned out so bad. Never ever have I tasted dessert that is spicy. I was expecting more based on the ratings here, but very dissatisfied. It’s a skip for me.

Went in on a Friday evening, waited about 30 mins, there’s no room to wait indoors as space in the restaurant is tight. Once seated we had our order taken pretty quick and then the food took another 30-40 mins to arrive although it was certainly with the wait.

Best Authentic Punjabi food in Austin, the food will surely remind you about eating in punjab with same flavor, the place is very small and extremely Busy. Be prepared to wait at least 1 hours over weekend but the food is worth waiting

Great family owned restaurant. Medium is not spicy at all. I ordered the paneer tila masala and was told the medium was spicy enough for a first timer. It was not! If you like spice get spicy!!! The bitter ban is the best! The paneer man is also good!
