Having been to the Kennebunkport location, we had to check out the new Biddeford location in the Lincoln Hotel. First we had to check out the impressive hotel lobby (where are we?!?). It’s a lot to take in; gorgeous and glamorous!! We walked downstairs into the lower level, which feels like a night club. Then to the long hallway into Batson. Wow! This place is amazing!! Had happy hour beers and wine, Cajun fries. Ian, our bartender, was attentive and chatty. Great service. The fries came out in minutes.

Baston River in Biddeford – what a visually stunning place. Incredible and super cool. They really challenge your senses. A very attractive place to hang out. Beer was really good, the cocktails were tasty & modern. Food is a little too heavy, just like previous visits. If they just improved the food just a little, this would easily be a 5 star review and a must visit knockout spot (we tried 15 menu items between this location and others). Service here was attentive at the door getting us seated, unremarkable from that point on. Overall this visit was a good experience.

We were in the area so we dropped in to pick up some of their beer and try it out. We did not eat there because we had seen all the negative reviews on the service.

A great place to be and be seen. And what a scene it is…. Step off the laid back blue collar streets of Biddeford ME, into the swanky meets funky, modern meets historic Lincoln Hotel. Find a reason to check out the lobby decor and lounge scene — Pro Tip: a cocktail at the lobby bar is reason enough. After you’ve taken in the grand lounge – head downstairs the vast lower level. A floor down, you’ll find more seating and room for a disco tec. Follow the long hallway to Batson River Brewing & Distilling Co. Offering fresh beers and a full bar and vast seating, Batson is another space you will want to check out. (NOTE: This review only considers the space, service and bar scene – we did not eat or stay here)

Batson is bringing a new life to Biddeford! The food, the atmosphere, the service are all five star! We had Julie as a server and she brought a whole vibe to our experience. Batson is good for drinks and small bites, but also a date night or celebratory meal. Something for everyone on the menu. There are no reservations and parking can be limited, so plan ahead! If you come on a weekend, there will likely be a wait— but it is WORTH IT! Enjoy! The music is also versatile and fantastic. 10/10

Absolutely amazing food and wonderful serve. Everything we ate was so delicious; the chicken and pork was juicy and the poutine was a nice change with the pork, fried onions, and jalapenos. Would 100% come back again just for the food!! Plus there were games to play while waiting for food. We went with Yahtzee but there were quite a few choices

Great atmosphere. The wings were really good, but that steak was so chewy that it wasn’t edible. I think if you’re gonna charge 40$ for bagged fries, hanger steak, and nothing else, you should at least be able to eat the steak. Don’t go.

We ate with friends at Batson River Biddeford last night and the atmosphere, food and drinks were so good that we came back again tonight on an impromptu basis for cocktails and pizza at the bar. Our bartender Ashlee was a lot of fun to engage with, despite the fact that she was hustling hard with drink and food orders. Her cocktails and our pizza were incredible, as was the atmosphere again! We’ll be back for sure when we return as a family to the area for vacations later this summer!

What a fresh breath of air in the Biddeford restaurant scene, as Batson River continues the city’s transformation into a more chiq Portland suburb. This restaurant immediately stakes its claim as one of the best in Saco/Biddo. The decor is truly stunning. At once artsy and eye-opening, yet understated and relaxing, Batson’s ambience is gorgeous. The location in the heart of downtown is ideal for an easy walk to & fro the Biddeford City Theater, the local markets, or the rest of the up-and-coming food and drink scene in the area. The selection of food is varied but not overwhelming and everybody should find something delicious they like. And the bartender made a killer cocktail. Heck, connected to the also brand new Lincoln Hotel, you can justify staying the whole night! Batson River is new and exciting while remaining accessible for local residents. Don’t wait to check out the place that everybody is talking about in southern Maine!
