This place has changed a lot over the years. I used to ignore the negative reviews I read because we had never had anything but positive experiences there. However, tonight was a completely different story. First, the young lady running the register appeared to be the only one working and her appearance was totally unprofessional. Forget the tats and piercings. I have learned to overlook them when I am in certain establishments. But, the lip prints on her neck were inexcusable. We sat and waited for our food longer than we ever have on previous visits. As I waited, I watched the one girl working bring each person’s order out to the tables one by one, with sometimes as much as 2 minutes between each serve. That means the table with 6 men took no less than 12 full minutes for them all to get their food. After this period of aerobic exercise, the girl came over to our table and told me my brisket no longer comes without sauce; now it is cooked in the sauce. She wanted to know if I still wanted it. Well, gee, no, but since I’ve already paid for it, I agreed that would be fine. The food, when it finally came, tasted good, but it was cold. My fries were hot (not very, but at least I could tell they had been freshly cooked). My meat was room temperature, and my cornbread felt like it had come straight out of the refrigerator. I have always loved Bassett’s because I am from Oklahoma where we like our meat to get its flavor from the way it’s cooked, not because it is drowned in barbecue sauce. After tonight, though, we will never, ever eat at Bassett’s again.

Used to be great, went there all the time. The last few times the food wasn’t great and our orders got messed up… Always seemed to be “out” of most meats. Decided to give them one more chance, only to find out they closed. Not at all surprised considering the last few tines we went. Still sad to see it go.

Real good BBQ; best I’ve had north of the Mason-Dixon line.

Was great, right up until they got evicted. Look’s like maybe they didn’t pay their rent – sign on the door says they are going to try to re-open at Vorhees town center 20 minutes away. Fat lot of good that does me at lunch.

Place looked great, service was quick, price well, food was so so. Meat was dry with little flavor. Mac and Cheese was undercooked and greasy. I won’t repeat.

Considering I am from the south and this was in NJ it wasn’t bad. I liked it. A little pricey but hey it is NJ and I didn’t see and hogs, cows or chickens running around.

Recent visit was awful. Old, fatty meat, stale buns, bagged supermarket fries, and mediocre service. Never going back.

Love this place – it’s good BBQ, BYOB and on Friday nights they have live music. What isn’t there to like?

Was good cheap and hearty, left feeling fat in the belly and still round in the wallet
