My first time here (Jackson) and I came over for lunch. The staff was super nice. I got the Rodeo Panini with a deviled egg and the banana pudding. The food was good, but that Banana Pudding is SPECTACULAR, and I am VERY picky when it comes to banana pudding. Best I’ve ever had from a restaurant. Will definitely be back.

You can’t do better for a quick bite to eat in Renaissance than Basil’s – fantastic pizza, paninis and salads at affordable prices. Highly recommend trying the Fondren or Rocky pizzas. Both delicious and a great option to split for two people.

First off they weren’t friendly at all. Secondly, I ordered my Panini with no tomato. The problem wasn’t that they put tomato on it, the problem was that they took it off like I wouldn’t be able to tell. They definitely need a course on customer service. I probably won’t be going back.

Basils has very good food. It also has a varied menu. Nice facility. Great customer service. Prices are acceptable. And right next door you can top off your meal with a wonderful Smoothie King smoothie. They also have a wonderful location in the Fondren Art District surrounded by other shops and eateries and the first of every month they have a large open air street party with vendors and artists and music and food and games that has been changed a bit now for more social distancing called First Fondren. All in all both locations are good.

Not a soul in there with 4 workers and our order took over 20 minutes. When they brought it out, there was no apology for the wait. We said thank you land the server just turned and walked off. The place was filthy. Every table was dirty. The floor had trash and food everywhere. The food was pretty good except my pizza was supposed to have roasted garlic and fresh basil. It had neither.

Food was mediocre at best. Menu has all of the prices blacked out but free would have been too much. I’ve never had a panini where the cheese and meat were still cold. Add to that it was drowning in mustard. I don’t do bad reviews but this one was well earned!
