Super busy night, very late and a live band as well so, I kinda get the service being a bit slow therefore 4 stars. Tell Scarlet was one of the reasons we visited tonight, the band was amazing. I would have liked to see some low carb/sugar options but I do get not all pizza places are on the cauliflower bandwagon. At least it was a delicious cheat night for me, pizza was good and mozzarella sticks were tasty. Food could have been a bit warmer therefore 4 stars. Pizza would have been fabulous if it was hotter as well as the mozzarella sticks!!

Great service and the food was amazing! You can get any of their pizzas as a calzone. Love that their calzone is not all bread. Great job!

A perennial island favorite. The quality of the food has diminished recently, however. The pizza crust was flat and the tomato sauce tasted like it was right out of a can. The gyro was good.

We were reminded again why we never go here! The service was absolutely horrible, and the servers did not care at all. We understand being short staffed and things running slow, but this place was ridiculous. The servers brought food to the tables & yelled that there were two different Calzones, but she didn’t know which one was what kind, told us to figure it out! Ordered a drink refill and waited 45 minutes, then went to the restroom and saw the server on her cell phone and asked if my drink had been ordered. She said yes, but it sometimes takes a few minutes. Then the food came and I cannot understand how fresh gyro wrapped in foil is cold all the way through. We love to support our local restaurants but this was very disappointing again.

Sadly, one of our favorite local eatery has declined so badly we will never eat there again, or order. Over the past few months we have had terrible experiences with them. The first warning bell was a take out order that went badly . Waiting to have them finish the order, they said done n bye bye. Got to the car and saw something was missing, went back in to get it and had to wait. Got home and found the dessert had also been missing. What I thought was the dessert was the bread sticks. Back to Basils to get it. Second, we ordered 2 meals, complete – but also went to great pains to explain we wanted 5 extra meatballs. When my husband went to pick it up the bill was very high. He was surprised, and when we got home they had given us 5 orders of 3 meatballs each plus our regular dinner orders. Was irked, but froze them and did call to explain the mix up. Oh well, these things happen she said. The last time, and it is the LAST time we tried to order from there, my meatball sliders were totally burned. As in the roll was charred black and hard as a rock. My husband was so upset he took a photo and sent it to them asking how they could send that out of the kitchen to anyone, as they were inedible. They said sorry and they would make it up next time. There will never be a next time. We used to love this place for years, it is so sad what has happened to them. Don’t go.

When we first moved out here, this was our favorite local spot. Over the last 6 months we have noticed the service has gotten worse and slower, while wait times on food have gotten longer. Today we waited 21 minutes on a single shot and a cocktail that never showed up. Server informed us that the bartender was overwhelmed. She had 4 patrons at bar seats and 3 tables(all small tables, no parties) . My girlfriend and I are both bartenders at places that have much larger bars and a MUCH higher volume of business so we understood she was steady but should have, at no point, been ‘overwhelmed’ I work at a bar that does 4 times the volume of this bar and if drinks take more than 6 minutes I have a manager immediately on my back about it. We always give the benefit of the doubt because we are in the biz but this was the 4th trip in a row we’ve had to lower our expectations due to variety of reasons and excuses which seem to be more of the norm than the exception. I took my kids there a month ago. We ordered everything at once and all of our food finally arrived an hour and 4 minutes later. Server was nice and repeatedly apologized tho so we still took care of them. I used to recommend this place to everyone who said they were gonna visit Tybee or Wilmington Island and were looking for food. We are done with Basil’s for our part and won’t make any future recommendations on their behalf. There are plenty of better places to dine between Wilmington and Tybee islands.

Best pizza on Wilmington Island. Great atmosphere for both families and younger crowd. Kid play area with TV monitors so you can watch them play. Great bar seating with outdoor deck seating also. Highly recommend.

I would leave zero stars if I could. We used to eat here regularly then stopped because service was terrible. We decided about a month ago to give it another try.
