I had an excellent experience at Barrigas. There was a Sunday lunch rush when I arrived, so I expected it to take a while to get in and out, and I was just thinking of doing takeout food. I was pleasantly surprised with one of the best restaurant greetings I have ever received when I walked in the door though. The gentleman working the register is definitely the right guy for the job. Extremely friendly and made me feel at home. I decided to eat there and got one of the lunch specials. Despite the crowded parking lot, they did have a table to spare for me. The food came out pretty quickly, and was good. I would happily eat here again.

I wanted to give this place more than 3 stars but it’s not there… Greeting at the door was fairly prompt. I was seated at a booth. The tables were not sticky so you can tell the staff is doing good maintaining cleanliness. Floors were clean. Drinks and nachos came out with speed. The wait for the food was not too bad. The restaurant at 30% capacity there was plenty of staff to keep up. The straw for the drink didn’t come out until the food did. The plate portion size was appropriate yes, however it was not topped with the white cheese sauce it was supposed to come with. There was no return visit until I was about half way through the dish. (A different server) I asked her politely “was this supposed to come with white cheese sauce?”. She paraphrased the words “cheese sauce” and without a second thought she promptly darted into the kitchen. Now I won’t complain at all the speed of service as she almost immediately returned with my dish swimming in a sea of cheese sauce. However I was unable to taste anything after that. It also raised my concerns to the fact a half eaten dish had returned to the food prep line. I would have accepted the fact there was no cheese or just expected a side dish of the cheese to have been delivered to the table. But for the reviews sake in all honesty I must be blunt and give no more than 3 stars. The place is amazing given the effort of the staff and it’s level of urgency.. however it can be the small things that make or break the visit. The straw, the late return visit to the table, the botched attempt to send the rest of my food and all it’s flavors to a cheese laid grave. But my biggest concern was my dish returning to the kitchen half eaten. 5 stars to the staff for the urgency of the function of the restaurant. But 3 stars to the restaurant.

The place was packed around noon so I waited until after 1 to eat. At this time there was just one other table in use. The food came out very quickly, about ten minutes. The salsa dip barely had a bite to it. The chicken enchilada I ordered came covered in cheese sauce. The waitress Rosa, did not ask me if I wanted red, green, or cheese sauce. She also did not ask if I needed a refill on my tea. As of 4/26/2022, the pics of the menu and its prices. 10% tax was charged on my meal. See photos.

If you’re looking for good Mexican food and a quieter atmosphere, than this is the place. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Food is really good. Prefer this restaurant over the ones in bigger cities.

The guy that runs the place is so nice and friendly. Always greets us. He actually came over to our table and sit by us talking and gave my son a piece of candy. Food is great also. Always a pleasure going here to eat.

Pretty good food, very nice and clean and thank God there’s someplace other than JACK’S to eat in Reform Alabama. It helps to know a little Spanish to make out what the staff is saying, but that’s no problem: just point at the menu like an idiot and nod pleasantly. They’ll get it. Reasonable, pleasant and good chow!

Very good Mexican food, call ahead if you have 10 or more people, makes it easier on the staff. Owners are so nice, it’s clean and the rice is the best I have had at any Mexican restaurant.
