I had a Barney’s burger. Nothing special, just the size. Eventually, I had to knife and fork it as it was waaay too much for the bun. My lady had the falafel pita sandwich. She liked it. I felt the falafel was too done and hard to bite into, and be aware! She actually broke a tooth later that evening eating the leftover sandwich. She had to get a crown placed last week. The curly and sweet potato fries were awesome with the dipping sauces served.

I went in on Saturday and stood by the cash register for a table. No one approached me. The restaurant was nearly empty but wait staff were present. Finally a man asked me for my order, which was a pineapple milkshake, fries and a western barbecue hamburger. I told the cashier I wanted a table. When the food finally came to my table, the burger had very little barbecue sauce, the bacon was tough, and the fries were greasy. When it came time to leave I asked that my food be boxed up to go. I waited for a long time before that happened as no wait staff approached my table to help me. Finally the manager or owner approached me and asked me if I wanted a bag for my takeout. His was the only friendly face.

My favorite hang out in Berkeley! I’ll get to the regular info in a minute, but tonight they let all of us Warriors fans stay and watch the NBA conference finals game 4 an HOUR past closing time! They didn’t hurry us out or anything, just watched the game with us and cleaned up. They’re the ultimate local hangout. Best outdoor patio, terrific service, and I’ve tried and loved everything on the menu. They have the best milkshakes and root beer floats I’ve ever found and they come in the most generous portions.

I love the atmosphere–both inside and out. It was a beautiful day, so we sat outside. We had wandered in around 4 in the afternoon. We ended up splitting a Calfornia Burger on large lettuce leaves–delicious!!!
