This is a great location on the busy route to and from the Cape. The place is clean. Service very good. Clean bathroom. Indoor and outdoor picnic parking. We got the lobster roll with fries at $28. Lobster bisque at $7 was excellent. Lobster roll was on the small side. They didn’t taste bad but needed either more butter or mayo. Good convenient place when traveling but not worth a trip just for lunch.

Our food was served hot and it was delicious. The fried clams, the shrimp, onion rings and fries could not have been any better. There is a wonderful 1950s atmosphere here you expect on the Cape. There is outdoor tables and an immaculate indoor restaurant and bathrooms. This is a place you will visit every time you head to the Cape.

Cute family restaurant. The food tasted good and the portion sizes are great. The benches outside are perfect when the weather is nice to watch the cars go by.

Nice little spot right by the canal with indoor and outdoor seating. Had quite the assortment of seafood. Decided to try the cheeseburger instead this time. Made a good burger. All was reasonably priced.

Mixed feelings. My family ate at the Seafood Shanty 2 weeks ago and we got all of the same food this time at Barlow’s. Prices were pretty much the same at both places. So let’s get started, fried shrimp, Go to the Shanty, At both places the shrimp tasted very fresh but Barlows were about the size of a quarter ( see photo) and I got 10 of them. At the Shanty they were much larger and I got a dozen. Fried clams go to Shanty. There were very large portions given at both places but Barlow’s was coated in way too much breading. Lobster roll, for the same price the lobster roll at the Shanty was much, much larger than the lobster roll at Barlow’s but Barlows tasted very fresh and the Shanty’s was NOT fresh. Barlow’s has a rest room and it was clean. Shanty has port a potty. Barlows takes credit cards, Shanty does not. Barlow’s has indoor seating with high chairs, Shanty does not. Shanty has lots of outdoor seating and shaded but no high chairs. Although Barlow’s has indoor seating don’t expect too much from the air conditioning. It was cooler than sitting in the hot sun but it didn’t really feel air conditioned. I only have one last comment. Barlow’s had 2 different size fried shrimp. I asked the girl that took my order what the difference was. One was $16 the other was $18. She said, the size. So I said OK, what’s the size difference? She said one has more. I asked her how many shrimp came in the $16 and how many came in the $18 and she said they went by weight. So then naturally I asked her well what is the weight of the $16 and what is the weight of the $18 ? She just looked at me and said, I don’t know. I would think that is something she should probably know and even if she didn’t maybe she could have asked someone for me, But she just sat there looking at me and I got the impression she was not going to ask anyone. I ordered the $16. Overall you’ve got to make your own decision which place you would like to eat. They both have good points and bad points. I wouldn’t make a special trip to go to either one of them, But if you find yourself out in that area I hope my review will help you choose between one or the other.

Stopped on the way out of Cape Cod to get a last minute fish fix, and I’m glad I did. The building may have seen better days, but the food was delicious. This is not a 5 star fancy restaurant by any means, but the food was hot and delicious. I had a stuffed quahog and the fish and chips. The fish was hot, fresh, moist and tasty. The stuffed quahog wasn’t dried out like other places, and it had just a touch of heat to it, which was a pleasant surprise. The wife had a cheeseburger and fries, and she also gave it a thumbs up. There is inside seating as well as outside picnic tables. If you want some fresh, delicious and fast seafood, stop in. You won’t break the bank. I think I found a new place to stop on the way in and out of Cape Cod!

Terrific clam belly platter. Make your visit there and cross the street and enjoy the view of the water or sit outside under the umbrella or eat indoors. No wrong choice here.

Stopped on way home off Cape. My poor sister was subjected to watery chowder mixed with Dawn dish soap. Perhaps there was one clam neck in there? Rather have a ladle of canal water from across the road.
