The waitress we had was outstanding, she recommended some phenomenal tapas, and a great wine selection. She recommended the wine flights. Everything was amazing and reasonably priced.

Held a private party here for 20 people. The room doesn’t have solid walls, and the heavy curtain does keep our some sound, but on a Friday night it is lively. We had selected a menu ahead of time. They were able to accommodate dietary restrictions. We had an original and vegetarian paella which was delicious. The charcuterie board had a nice assortment of meats and cheeses. The meats were well-cooked, desserts were on point. I’d definitely go back to eat here any time. And I would have a private event here again as well. The staff was attentive and personable.

I very much enjoy this place! Went to Barcelona in Boston a couple times and the new haven location was pretty similar and did not disappoint.

Came here on NYE without reservation and was lucky enough to get a table despite the long waiting list. Some of the dishes were sold out (it’s NYE). I ordered the chicken and paella. The chicken was the best chicken dish I’ve ever had and the paella was good. Service was excellent eventho it was full house. I also got a cheesecake and tasted ok.

During my recent visit to Barcelona restaurant, prompted by a glowing review from Douglas, I had the pleasure of experiencing an extraordinary dining adventure courtesy of the remarkable waitress, Tara. Attending a Yale University conference, I sought a dining spot and was fortunate to stumble upon this gem. Following Douglas’ recommendation, I specifically requested Tara’s service, and I’m thrilled to say that her culinary choices were a symphony of flavors that delighted every taste bud. What truly set this experience apart was Tara’s impeccable service, leaving no detail unattended. It was as if she could anticipate my needs before they even arose.

Not worth the price of poorly prepared tapas!! While the wine was delicious, the tapas were extremely underwhelming & haphazardly cooked. If a place is marketing themselves as a Spanish wine bar with tapas, then I fully expect them to get the small plates right – good wine should be a given, since they don’t necessarily make/produce the wines. The zucchini bunelos were ok, nothing special, nothing great. Then we got the octopus (pulpo) and my God, it was tough as leather. I couldn’t even saw though it, with the knife given. Next we got the seafood paella, which was, to my shock, TERRIBLE. They might as well call it joloff or tomato rice. The seafood was overcooked – mussels shriveled down, squid shrunken and the rice unevenly cooked. There was no seafood taste in the paella, except for simply tomatoes. They took about 25 minutes between the time our tapas came and for the paella to be served…it was rushed and quite disappointing for them to have it on the menu if they’re going to serve it like this. Bottom line is, bad quality food but fair selection for wine. There’s other places in the neighborhood to go for food and not pay these types of prices. Service was also clearly behind on a Friday night.

I ordered a wine flight. When it arrived, all three glasses were dirtied with smudges on them, a bit of what looked like a red onion skin fleck, and some other opaque flake of dried food. Honestly astounding, considering we were there on a random Tuesday evening. Waitress was inattentive and had disappeared, so I walked up to the bar myself to fix the situation. The bartender was so absent-minded; I was standing there with all three glasses and he didn’t even look at me once. Eventually, the manager noticed the situation, apologized, and took the flight off of our bill. But man, what an absolute nightmare.

What a remarkable evening! My colleague and I had the absolute delight of dining at Barcelona following our invigorating conference at Yale. Our experience was nothing short of exceptional, all thanks to the incredible Tara who took care of us with unmatched expertise. We surrendered ourselves to Tara’s guidance, choosing our entire culinary journey under her skillful recommendation.
