Heard a lot about this place. Finally, I got to try it out in Athens. Many options to choose from, I got the vegan burrito, salad in a tortilla bowl. It was loaded with veggies, beans, rice. Very flavorful also got a side of guacamole and chips. Guac was fresh and delicious. Would definitely come back for some & the green tomatillo salsa … Keep up the good service!

The food portions are huge. The food tasted good. The prep line barely spoke to us as we ordered. They labeled my mom’s food incorrectly, so they overcharged us for it. When we mentioned it, they simply said it was the same price. It wasn’t, but I didn’t feel like debating it. The table was sticky and not level. It moved anytime one of the four of us moved. The bathroom had no toilet paper and no paper towels. The dining area and drink area were messy. Their health score is 89, and it should probably be lower.

Got nachos with queso and then was charged extra for it. Why am I being charged for something that it’s supposed to come with? It even says on their sign that nachos come with queso or shredded cheese. Why did they ask me if I want shredded cheese or queso without explaining that I’m going to be charged for queso when I have never been charged for queso on my nachos at the other locations. And then when I asked about it and explained that I didn’t realize it was an extra cost the workers were incredibly rude and unhelpful. Super frustrating and I will never come to this location again.

They advertise gluten free bowls, but then put their contaminated gloves into the bins to retrieve toppings. If you have Celiac or a Wheat allergy do not eat here.

Was met at the door 16 minutes before closing and was told they were closed. I got in my car to call and make a complaint but the phone was answered and laid down, and left off of the hook until the actual closing time. (I’m assuming so no call in orders could be made.)

Our Barberitos experience was abysmal this evening. They handed us the wrong pickup order, then the correct order left with someone else. This was a chance for Barberitos to shine and make it right. They did not. They pretended that no mistake had been made, then tried to work the reorder in. After 20 minutes of waiting in the store (and 30 minutes waiting for the initial mistake), we finally got our food. This could have been handled much better. Acknowledgement of the mistake, some coupons off our next meal, etc. but no. And we won’t be going back.

Wow. A chicken burrito, 2 tacos, and two drinks, over $29. I expect this at a full on Mexican dinner restaurant. We went to one a few years ago, now I remember why we haven’t been back. Yes, the burrito was large, but $11? That didn’t include the drinks, which were an additional $5. Which brings the two steak tacos in at around $12. The guy making the food was polite and friendly. The cashier, not so much. If I wanna spend close to $30 for Mexican, I’ll go to a sit down, full dinner, restaurant.

This is the best Barberitos ever, I have been to ones all over Athens, Ga, North Carolina, Tennessee and this one is always on point, the salsa is always flavored right, cheese dip…muah**, chips its all perfect. Others have cut corners and changed things on menus that make me miss coming to this specific store. I just wish Barb’s as a franchise would bring back regular beef, the turkey beef just isn’t the same. Thanks for being awesome!
